To Love A Dork Pt. 1

Atlas Academy Cafeteria, Atlas

Weiss sits with her teammates watching the news broadcast. On the screen was an Atlesian reporter named Connie Chase. She had neck length curly brown hair and brown eyes.

"The General has still made no comment on the two attacks which took place three days ago however Atlas Specialist Winter Schnee states that the perpetrators have been identified. We can only hope that..." The broadcast is interrupted as someone had changed the channel. Weiss sighs rolling her eyes in disappointment.

"Well that's just great." Yang comments.

"Do you think they'll cancel the Festival?" Ruby asks.

Weiss moans in disappointment as she lays her head onto the table. "I hope not." She says with a near begging tone. "Hope is so excited for it."she then puts her arms under her head as she pouts. "Oh what would I tell her if that happens?" She says.

Blake pats her back lightly. "It's alright. We're here to help." She says.

Weiss sits up nodding. "Right." She says giving Blake a thankful look.

Later that night the team was in their dorm with Hope watching a show. Weiss was brushing her hair, Blake was reading, Ruby was begrudgingly studying while eating strawberries, and Yang was playing a game on her scroll. After running the brush three more times through her hair she looks at her reflection with satisfaction and walks out to the main room. In their the first thing she sees was Ruby studying. Noting that Hope was preoccupied she decided to see how her team leader was doing. Looking over the younger girls shoulder she saw that Ruby had been doing well though she had also drawn a picture of a girl wearing a blue cape walking with a boy holding a cane. It wasn't perfect though Weiss couldn't say it was bad either. She raises an eyebrow however watching Ruby eating another strawberry.

"We have cookies you know." Weiss says with an amused expression. She had hardly seen the team leader eat anything else. "I thought you practically lived off of them."

Ruby blushes giving a hesitant chuckle. "Sorry. I guess I have over done it with the cookies lately." She says grinning sheepishly.

Weiss waves her off. "It's fine though I'm curious as to why strawberries?"

Ruby seemed taken aback. "Oh uh well I have always liked strawberries. There my favorite food actually." Ruby admits.

Weiss gave a look of interest. "Really? Why is that?" The heiress asks.

Ruby shrugs popping another into her mouth. "I jush..." She blushes in embarrassment before swallowing her food. "Sorry." She says apologizing. "Anyways I just like them. Always have. They taste good and they're so many things they can be in or on!" Ruby explains. "What about you? What's your favorite food?"

Weiss frowns putting a hand to her chin in thought to the question. What was her favorite food? "I suppose I do like apples a bit. I even have a necklace in the shape of an apple."

"You do?" Ruby asks.

Weiss rolls her eyes. "I don't wear it everyday but yes I have an apple shaped necklace." She says. Weiss then looks back to the drawing frowning. "What's with the girl you drew?" Weiss asks pointing to the drawing.

Ruby frowns looking to it then shrugs. "I don't know. It just popped into my head." She says. She turns to look up at Weiss. "You think it means something?"

Weiss shrugs. "Hard to say anymore." She admits. "With what Ozpin told us, about Battra, and magic, and maiden's." Weiss sighs. " I wouldn't discount it."

Ruby gives a grimace. "And the attacks." She adds. "We haven't even gotten through one year yet."

Weiss nods in agreement. "I hope the next three years aren't this hectic." She says with a nearly pleading tone. Ruby nods.
