Junior Vs Manda

Earth

Junior growled deeply at the sea serpent as it slithered through the streets. Azusa, Miki, and Ishiro backed up as the two titans prepared to brawl. Junior let out a bellowing roar his tail curling up before slamming the earth with thunderous force. Manda lunged and Junior grabbed the beasts jaws holding them open, trying to pry them apart. Manda reacted quickly, wrapping its body around Juniors tightly before squeezing him like a boa constrictor. Junior let out a howl of pain and Manda pressed his attack, jamming his claws into Junior's body. Junior writhed and flailed releasing Manda's head in a panic before falling to the ground on his back. Manda roared victoriously before reeling back and snapping its jaws shut over Junior's shoulder. Junior's eyes flashed red with fear as he roared out.

Azusa clamped her hand over her mouth, tears spilling from her eyes before she ran to the edge of the building rooftop. "BABY!" She cried.

As if in response a deep chirping cry shook the sky as a brown figure dove from the clouds, clawed hind legs poised before it grabs Manda, and savagely ripping the beast off Junior. Manda roared in anger. It was Rodan! The fire bird let out another chirping roar before lifting Manda high into the sky. Junior's eyes reverted to normal as he struggled to get back on his feet. Once Rodan reached the clouds Manda bit Rodan's leg eliciting a squawk of pain. Rodan pecked at Manda's head with his beak three times, popping Manda's right eye causing the beast to let go with a roar of pain. Rodan took the opportunity to drop Manda, the serpent flailing as gravity brought it back to earth.

Junior's eyes glowed a deep amber as he roared, his voice echoing through the city, shattering glass and announcing to the world his intention. The fins on his back glowed a bright radiant blue. At the same time Manda hit the ground sending a shockwave through the area, collapsing several building in the process, and leaving a massive crater. Junior's mouth glowed with radiation as he roared to the heavens before whirling his head toward Manda, and letting out a beam of radioactive light that burned the very air like plasma. Manda shrieked before the beam struck true, melting his flesh till all that remained was bone. Junior's radioactive beam strengthened as he slammed his tail on the ground, striking the crater with enough force to rival 5 nuclear bombs condensed in that one spot. The shockwave shattered windows throughout the city, and Azusa had to cover her ears as she was thrown back to Miki and Ishiro.

When Junior let the beam die out, he roared out in victory. Rodan circled around overhead twice before letting out a chirping roar and flying off. Junior watched Rodan leave before turning to look at the building Azusa was on. When he saw her stand up, albeit shakily, his expression softened. Then he turned his gaze to the sea. He growled lightly before taking slow careful strides toward his home in the ocean.

Azusa watched Junior's retreating figure with a concerned smile. "Be more careful Baby." Azusa muttered to her young but not so little monster.

Miki let out a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding. "That went better than expected." She said. "Rodan seems to be a good ally to Junior."

Ishiro nodded. "Yeah." He agreed.

"I would expect so." Azusa said, turning to Miki. "They are half brothers after all."

The three stood side by side as Junior reached the shoreline, letting out a roar before he took careful steps into deeper waters. At the same time, search and rescue crews began flying in on helicopters, as was the norm with kaiju attacks. Azusa smiled brighter as she watched Junior dive out of sight beneath the waves.

"With his father gone. It seems Earth has its new champion." Azusa said with certainty.

"Irresponsible!" Pietro ranted.

"Dangerous!" Penny agreed.

Penny was pacing back and forth as Pietro furiously gripped the armrest of his specialized mobility chair. Ironwood, Qrow, Amber, and the twins watched on in awkward silence. Jet however was seated across from Ironwood at his desk as her mother and grandfather scolded her. She felt like melting into the chair.

"And don't get me started on the property damage!" Pietro added angrily.

"Don't forget about the Mech father." Penny reminded.

"Oh how could I forget the Mech?" Pietro asked sarcastically.

"Pietro!" Ironwood interrupted. The Polendina's stopped, turning to face the General. Qrow stood amused next to him. "Now, I understand your concerns. However, it is important to note that dangerous or not, Jet's actions were commendable. Hope Schnee is our most important asset right now, and the defense of her is something to be praised not scolded."

"But we failed." Penny retorts.

"Failed or not, I believe she did the right thing." Ironwood argued. Then he sighed, rubbing his temple with his thumb and forefinger. "How up to speed are you with Hope's situation?"

"She's the Queen of something." Penny recalled

"Yes." Ironwood confirmed. "The Queen of Monsters specifically. Right now we face a great threat that Hope will have to fight. She is apparently the only one who can win, and we have to protect her till she reaches maturity and thus gets to full power."

Pietro's expression softened. "That... sounds like a lot to put on a young girl."

"Which is why we are trying to buy her time to grow up a bit." Ironwood said. He then turned to the twins. Reaching into his suit he pulled out a medallion and placing it in front of them. "This was found on the woman on Amity. We have her in custody for interrogation, but she doesn't seem to understand our language."

The twins inspect the medallion. It was gold in a 10 pointed star shape with a beetle design etched into it with mysterious rune like symbols at the star tips. The twins went wide eyed.

"Megalon!" They gasped.
