You woke early in the morning. Orange light filtered in through the curtains, alerting you of the time. You felt in the spot beside you on the mattress. Cleo was gone, meaning she probably was cooking breakfast. You huffed and ran a hand through your hair. God, how you hated waking up. It was just another reminder that you had limited freedom and no friends or family that cared.
Cleo opened the door hastily, her hair in a towel and an old set of pajamas on. She sat a bowl of cereal infront of you and sighed.
"Eat." She demanded.
"Eat? Right now?" You yawned. "I don't want to eat right now."
"That wasn't a question, dumbass." She slammed her hand on the nightstand.
You furrowed your brows and lifted the bowl to eat from it. You watched her from the corner of your eye. She picked at her nails impatiently.
"Hurry up." She crossed her arms. You scarfed down the food and handed her the bowl. You wiped the corner of your mouth with your sleeve.
Cleo sat the bowl on the nightstand and grabbed your wrist. You yelped as she jerked you from the warm blankets. Then, she led you to the cage where she put you on your knees and demanded you to climb in. You did so obediently, not wanting to feel the wrath of her and Nefera.
Cleo locked the cage and squatted beside it, an emotionless look on her face.
Jax peered in through the window and frowned. She locked you in a cage? Jax felt tears form in his eyes. He couldn't believe it! Were you nothing but a pet to her?
Cleo cleared her throat, the same dead look on her face. She reached in the cage and grabbed your face. She held it tightly and stared into your eyes.
"If you ever try to escape me, I'll fucking kill you." She spat. You winced, and she shook your head from her grip on your jaw.
"You understand?? Huh??" She shook the cage a little. "Do you hear me? I'll kill you."
You looked at her from inside the cage with a glare. What was she going on about? Didn't she know that you hadn't attempted any escape? Your plan of gaining her trust was crumbling before your eyes. It seemed as if you had went 20 steps back. Nothing made sense. Why was she so upset? Why was she so snobby? Why was she so controlling and power obsessed? Yesterday she was happy. So what had changed?
Her mood seemed to go back and forth, waving like a leaf in the wind. She was unsteady and only held on by a small branch. She was so indecisive with her moods.
Cleo glared harder. "I killed Nefera. I'll kill you, too."
You froze. She killed Nefera? Surely she was lying. That was her sister! Of course, she had to be lying. She was just bluffing, you were sure of it. But by the cold look in her eyes and the strong grip on your jaw, you doubted she was joking. She really killed Nefera? You couldn't wrap your mind around it. Her own sister was dead, and you could have been next on her list. You didn't know which was worse, the dread in your gut or the confusion that scratched at your lungs.
Cleo released your jaw and stood to walk out. She did so quickly, and she slammed the door behind her. You cringed. She was just going to leave you locked in the cage? What did you do to deserve a punishment as bad as that?
You shook your head. No, she'd come back. She'd help you. She'd let you out and say everything was just a huge prank. You hoped she'd come back, at least. Your stomach did a flip. What if she came back? What if she hurt you? What if she had Manny rape you again?
You shook your head again. No, she wouldn't do that. She loved you. At least that's what she told you. The reality of your situation weighed you down once again. You were a victim. You were a victim of kidnapping and rape and abuse. What you were enduring was abuse.
The day continued the same, with you being locked in a cage and Cleo doing whatever she wanted outside the walls of the bedroom. You grinned when she walked back in the room.
Cleo didn't say anything to you, however, and instead she turned off the light and slid under the blankets on the bed. You shook the cage a little.
,"Hey! Can I be let out?" You asked.
Cleo didn't say a single word to you. Instead, she put on a set of headphones and laid in peace. You shivered from the silence.
Your knees began to ache, and your wrists felt stuck in place. Your joints had began to lock themselves from your constant position. You tried to lay on your side, but you quickly realized the cage was far too small for you to lay down. You situated yourself again, but your new position wasn't much different from your old position. Your legs and arms ached.
"Hey, please?" You called out. Cleo ignored you.
"It...It kinda hurts." You whined.
Still no answer. You sighed. You'd be stuck there for the entire night. You dreaded it, but couldn't do much about it. You figured you'd accept your fate, and you sat as comfortably as you could before closing your eyes. Hopefully you'd be able to sleep.
You were wrong. You couldn't sleep, and you gave up trying. You hoped the next day would be better.
