You stared out the window, your mind allowing itself to be blank. You hadn't thought of anything since you began staring, and you didn't feel anything either. You were numb, completely out of tune with everything else. It felt like you were stuck. Everything around you was going about it's life, but you? You couldn't.
You were stuck. Stuck in the house. Stuck with Cleo. Stuck with Nefera. Just stuck. And as much as you wanted it to all disappear in a bad dream, it never did. Any time you thought you could wake up, you couldn't. Everything had blurred together.
You had begun hallucinating more too. Most of the time it was visions of Jax. Your mind was swarmed with him. How could he not come looking for you? Didn't he know that he was your only parent? Why didn't he care?
Your imagination and real life had become one, each melting into eachother to create a warped version of everything. Every mirror you saw seemed transparent. Every dark hallway seemed dangerous. Any sudden moves resulted in tiny dots to spread across your vision like a ripple. Your life was like a ripple as well.
You were a small drop, and yet somehow you created such a big mess. Cleo and Nefera and everyone weren't real. Surely it was all fake?
No, you crossed that from your mind. It was real. It had to be. You were living in it!
Unless you weren't.
Every idea seemed real, and you felt like a puppet; unable to control even your own movements. Everything was way out of your control. Especially Cleo.
She stared at you from the doorway, sliding her necklace pendant across the chain as she watched you. You seemed so out of reach.
"Hey, (Y/N)?" She asked, eyeing the large purple bruise you had around your neck from her earlier attempt to strangle you.
You gave a light hum, not caring to look behind you at her.
"Would you like to go outside?"
You turned to her, eyes wide and heart thumping. "Yes!"
She giggled. "Okay, but I have to put your collar on you!"
"C-Collar?"
"Mhm!"
She walked out of the room and returned with a thick, leather collar. She slid it around your neck and tightened it before buckling it perfectly around your neck. You squirmed from the uncomfortable material and whined at her. "This doesn't feel good."
"You'll get used to it." She replied.
You huffed and allowed her to hook a leash to the collar. Then, she led you outside into the bright field.
Flowers littered the tall, knee length grass. You giggled as the sun hit your skin, its bright rays lightening your heart. You could almost feel the serotonin leak across your brain. You felt high, the sun lifting you up majorly.
Jax parked his car directly beside a small plot of land. He heard that Cleo was hiding there from the last person he asked, and he was ready to confront her with a bullet. He exited the car and inhaled.
Child like giggled broke his trance, and he looked down across the field where he heard it from.
To his surprise, there you were, frolicking in the field of flowers. He smiled widely. There you were!! You were safe!!!
He ran down the field infront of the house and stopped. Cleo was there, holding a leash that connected to a collar. She laughed.
"Play as much as you want. We'll be coming inside in an hour."
Those words broke him. She was treating you like a child! She was parenting you!!
Cleo walked up to you and gave you a kiss. You didn't return it and instead walked back to the field. You flung your arms around in the flowers before plopping down and allowing the grass to cover your body. You laughed and called out.
"Cleo! Cleo look! I'm making a grass-angel!"
She giggled. "I see that, baby."
Jax felt his gut turn in agony. She was forcing you to be in a relationship??? She kidnapped you to....play pretend?!
Jax felt vomit in his throat. He couldn't believe it! And you had been there long enough to accept it!!
He doubted you knew what you were doing. Isolation always was your enemy. He knew you would break in a matter of weeks, but he didn't know how much you had broken. He didn't even know if you were fixable.
Jax sobbed silently. There was no way he'd leave you alone, seeing the hands you were left in.
"I love you." Cleo mumbled as she gave you another kiss.
You simply nodded and turned away.
Jax shivered. You were only there for Cleo's use? He couldn't imagine how miserable you were. He wanted to help. But what could he do? He was sure there were guards on speed dial.
He hopped back in his car and waited patiently for you to go back inside. After 40 minutes you did, and he drove around to the back of the woods that surrounded the house.
He decided he'd camp out. That way, he'd be able to see you and keep an eye on you until it was safe to take you home.
