Caged Dragon

Chapter 34

(Orba POV) 

The sky dragon and Fairy Tail kid were still unconscious when we arrived at our destination, which was somewhere outside of the Waas Forest. After capturing the two kids, Nullpudding and I had used a teleportation lacrima that the purple man had brought with him. 

"Boss told us to wait here with the brats and then he will have the trap ready," Nullpudding told me, as we arrived at our destination. 

"And what exactly is Master Ivan's plan on stopping a pack of dragons from tearing us to shreds?" I asked through my puppet. 

"Did you really think we didn't learn any of those beasts' weaknesses while we had them in our possession?" I turned around on my puppet's shoulder to see that Ivan was behind us with a large group of dark mages behind him, more than I had ever seen around the guild before. 

"After we found that we couldn't use the magic of that dragon tamer to control the beasts, we tried to find methods to easily kill them." the man continued, I turned my puppet around to face the man. "It was a shame that we couldn't control them, they would have made a great addition to my plans to finally destroy that old man's guild, but after being gleaning all I could from the beasts, I abandoned the project."

'He is crazier than I thought, trying to control a dragon pack, one dragon sure but a whole pack,' I thought, staring at Ivan in disbelief. 

"We will use what we found to ensure that those dragons won't be a problem for us anymore," Ivan told the mages behind him, causing them to cheer. The man then turned to Nullpudding and I, his grin turned into a frown when he saw the boy. 'Shit, did he recognize him,' I felt sweat start to go down my face. 

"I heard something interesting from a bug that Nullpudding had placed one of the Fairy Tail mages," Ivan declared, 'Bug? What bug? What is he talking about?' more sweat started to fall from my face, I had to hide my face from the man to keep him from being suspicious. 

"Apparently there is a spy from a dragon clan in our mitts, and he had told the brother of that fire dragon of our plan, as well as get that troublesome guild, Fairy Tail, involve," he told the crowd, before appearing before the Fairy Tail boy and tearing off the scarf revealing to the others the guildmark on the boy's shoulder. He turned to face Nullpudding and I, the purple man was shocked at the revelation and then both he and the guild master looked at me. 

"Since there were only two people other than myself who knew of the plan to kidnap the dragon child, and Nullpudding was the one who had placed the bug in the first place, I guess that means that you, Obra are our spy, anything that you want to say for yourself, traitor," Ivan asked me, but before I could answer, as spear of light had ripped through my puppet's torso and I was so shocked that I had momentarily lost control over it and it fell to the ground. It was at this moment that the sky dragon and boy mage decided to wake up.

Noticing their new state of awareness, Ivan turned to them and as soon as the girl had saw his face, she started trembling in fear of the man. The boy, still weakened by my forced magic exhaustion, went in front of her, shielding her from the dark guild master, who just laughed, while I continued to play dead. 

"How cute, are you going to try and protect her, boy," the man snarked, a cruel grin on his face, "You should be more worried about yourself, after all I would like nothing more than to kill you right now just to show my father why he shouldn't have let such weakness into the guild," this caused the girl to growl and her blue hair had started to turn pink, and the boy's eyes started to glow pink, "But I won't, after all, I have been waiting for a chance to eliminate that guild my father is so proud of, and you are the perfect bait to use to lure that old man here, boy."

With a flick of his wrist both the girl and boy were held down with magic cancelling collars being clasped on their necks. 'I have to help them, my cover has been blown there is nothing keeping me from saving them now,' I thought, and I moved my puppet to wrap around Nullpudding who was standing over me before I had released the transformation spell, I had on my monkey body and turned onto my true form. I towered over Ivan, in true Vulcan fashion before taking my claws to try and slash at the man. My mother was an illusion dragon so I wasn't as strong physically as my Vulcan father but I should be able to inflict some damage on the man so that I can save the kids. 

I was about to slash the man when suddenly I found myself on the ground, blood pooling around me. That wasn't right, even if I am not a full-blooded dragon, normal spells and weapons shouldn't get past my scales without me being able to notice them, what's happening. 

A shadow appeared above me, I looked up to see Ivan smiling, then he started laughing.

"I guess you still had some surprises left in you, Orba, I am glad that I could use you as my first test subject." My vision had started to fade, I looked back over to the kids, the girl was in tears, and the boy was horrorstricken. Looks like I wasn't able to be much help to you, Master Zeref, but I will try to give you one last hooray before my end. 

I looked to the sky and I sent a bright light into the sky, blasting over in the direction of Mt. Hakobe. My head was yanked off the ground by Ivan who was screaming in my face. I couldn't really understand what he was saying, but I lifted up my claws and gave him my final goodbye. 

I lifted up one finger and gave him my best shit eating grin.

"See you in the afterlife, you son of b*tch." I told him before everything had faded into black.

So, yeah, I am going to leave it on a cliffhanger here. 

I think I am just going to go into my bunker until I write the next chapter of the story tomorrow. I will see you then.
