👀👀👀👀👀
If a reporter came to her and asked her what was the worst day in her life, Eda would say that she was currently living through it.
April 23th, a typical spring day, turned out to be a completely disaster, and it was only noon!
While staring at the opened hood of her old car, smoke circling around the motor, Eda cursed herself, her now-ex boyfriend, and every single romantic movie that Hollywood served and clearly lied to her.
“Why are you doing this to me”, Eda yelled desperately at her car with both of herds on her hips.
And to think about all the hours she spent on planning for this day…
Her long-distance boyfriend, Cenk, arrived from Italy this morning and Eda went to pick him up, ready to surprise him with a big romantic gesture.
Instead of a jump-in-his-arms hug, she was met with a rather cold and distant Cenk.
Eda foolishly thought that the reason for it was his tiredness, so she let it go and drove him, at his request, to his home. His home is in different part of city, so she spent an hour and a half driving and talking to herself. When she parked in front of his house, silence entered the space and before the awkwardness, Cenk wanted to “nicely end their relationship.”
Eda was more angry at the fact that he ended their two-years-relationship with so much easiness, like she didn’t matter to him at all, than the fact that her relationship ended.
Give her a break, her ego was bruised and her romantic dreams destroyed!
And then, on her way back, her car started to make funny sounds, so she had to stop next to the road to check it out.
To make things even funnier, her phone died and couldn’t even call for help.
And now she was there, angry and frustrated and stranded in the middle of the road, all alone.
“At least I have you”, she said and caressed it gently.
Her car coughed an awful sound and then, with all respect towards his owner, died completely.
Eda, after a few minutes of silence and shock, accepted her destiny and accepted the death of her dear friend.
She sighed and closed the hood and closed her eyes.
“We are gathered here today…”, Eda began with her speech, mentioning the best memories she had with him, and ended it with a lone tear on her face.”
“Amin”, she finished.
“Amin”, said a voice that wasn’t hers. A voice that was way too deep to be hers. A voice that scared the crap out of her.
She jumped and turned around to see a tall man in front of her, dressed in jeans and plain white shirt. Her eyes went to his face, and have met with a pair of very amused green eyes.
Most importantly, his relaxed frame didn’t scream ‘I am a serial killer’ energy, so Eda let herself relax against the car as her hand went to her heart, trying to calm herself.
“Holy shit”, Eda whispered.
The stranger, that is most probably not a serial killer, and now that Eda took a better look at him, a handsome stranger raised his eyebrow.
“Is that kind of language allowed at the funerals?”, he said mockingly, making her blush from embarrassment.
“Are you mocking me?”, Eda asked with a raised voice, refusing to let this very handsome man to taunt her.
The possibly-ginger gasped in a faux offense. “Why would I do that?! I have just said goodbye to my dear friend. Honestly, I am offended and I demand an immediate apology.”
“What?”, she squealed. “You scared the living shit out of me! I demand an apology!”
The man slowly approached her and Eda only realized how tall he was when he stood right in front of her and she had to raise her head.
“Shhh”, he said and placed a finger on his lips, her eyes involuntarily staying there, and Eda wondered for a second how would they feel against her lips.
“We shouldn’t argue while our deceased friend is here”, he whispered, noticing where her gaze was.
“It’s not respectful”, he added, locking his eyes with hers.
For some reason, Eda found breathing a little bit difficult to do in that moment, as his eyes scanned her face.
Her heart fluttered against her chest, a shiver went through her, but not because of wind.
What was happening to her?!?
He leaned towards her in a slow, torturing pace, his eyes never leaving hers, as his lips moved towards her ear.
“Not respectful at all”, he whispered to her ear, while his hand got closer to hers, his fingers slightly brushing hers.
Two damn years of relationship, and she never felt like this, never felt this ache in her lower parts, never felt this overwhelming desire to touch and be touched…
She was being seduced in the middle of the road, and that realization, combined with the annoying honk from other drivers instantly sobered her up and she distanced herself from his intoxicating proximity.
They stared at each other from a small distance, both heavily breathing. There was something sensual in the way he was looking at her, it was way too intimate and Eda had to break it somehow.
“I..uhm…Did you know that Shakespeare’s epitaph contains a curse for grave robbers?”
Of all the things she could have said, Eda told this random fact, of all of the things…
She prayed for Earth to open and swallow her, because this amount of embarrassment isn’t possible.
She could feel her warm cheeks as she watched him trying to contain himself.
“What?”, he asked, surprise and amusement clear in his voice.
“Well, at least the moment is gone”, she thought darkly.
“Good friend, for Jesus’s sake forbear/ To dig the dust enclosed here/ Blessed be the man that spares these stones/ And cursed be he that moves my bones.” “That was written on his tomb when he died. Interesting, isn’t? I wonder if anyone actually tried-“
Eda’s rambling was interrupted by his laughter. One part of her was offended, but another part was sort of charmed by his laughter, the way his face is way softer when he laughs did some strange things to her.
“I know you for five minutes, but you are by all means the weirdest woman I have ever met”, he said and continued to laugh, embarrassing her even more.
Eda murmured something unintelligible and moved towards her car, ignoring him, and hoped that her car miraculously got fixed. She opened it, his laugh still following her, as she examined the car.
But she could just stare at it, because, except for the motor, she had no idea what was what.
At some point, he stopped laughing and joined her there.
“Your alternator is completely gone, among other things”, he had said while checking something with his hand.
Eda didn’t say anything because she had no idea what an alternator was. Instead, she moved few steps back, to make more space for him, and watched him.
His back was very muscular, and together with his strong arms…It was quite a view for Eda.
She let her eyes and was surprised to see a very nice and very round ass, probably better than her own.
To check it out better, Eda had tilted her head to the side, and admired the way his jeans flattered his curves.
She could hear him saying something to her, but she was too focused on the delicious view, and of course, she didn’t see him turning his head or her being caught.
After a really loud cough, Eda finally woke up and saw a knowing look on his face, alongside with an obnoxious smirk.
Her cheeks were definitely redder than her shirt, and could barely see him walking towards her.
“Here”, he said and offered her pack of paper tissues.
“What for?”, Eda asked, confused.
“To remove that drool from the corner of your mouth”, Serkan replied smugly.
“I was not drooling”, Eda denied hotly, wanting to slap the smirk off his face.
“Sure you weren’t”, he said with ironic smile. “But I would like to make a call to help with your car, so if you are finished with your ogling….”
He grinned at her shocked, completely red face, and turned around to make the named call, while Eda cursed every single moment that had led her to this situation.
He turned his head and winked at her.
“This arrogant, stupidly sexy, infuriating man. I am not going to let him win”, Eda thought as she stared at anything that wasn’t him.
“My friend is on the way. Let’s go”, he said and walked towards his sexy blue BMW.
Eda stayed stubbornly at her spot, refusing to go anywhere with that man.
“You can stay there, if you want, but judging by these dark clouds, I wouldn’t stay for too long”, he added.
“I would rather get wet then go anywhere with you”, Eda said and once again saw the famous smirk on his face.
“I don’t think there is any difference here. Stay here, or go with me, but in either way you’ll get wet”, he said and shrugged like it was a normal thing to say.
“Now you listen to me, you infuriating ginger of a man!”, Eda yelled and strolled towards him.
“I will not-“, Eda started but never finished her sentence because she was suddenly thrown over his back.
“Maniac!! Put me back”, Eda yelled but for no use. He continued towards his car, opened the door and gently placed her on the seat. He closed the door and immediately locked it, so she couldn’t get out, and entered his car with a smug grin.
Eda threw him a death gaze, but he ignored it and started the car.
“I can’t believe me getting dumped was the best part of her day”, Eda murmured after a few minutes of silence.
“You got dumped? I can’t believe someone would break up with such a delightful creature”, he replied sarcastically.
Eda tried to fought it, she really did, but this comment right there made her smile, just a tiny bit.
After realizing it, she forced herself to stay serious, but unfortunately for her, judging by his even more smug expression, he saw it.
“Get it, together Eda”, she scolded herself.
With a tiny amount of remaining pride, she decided to ignore it, and to ignore her constant glances towards his hands, and to ignore his intoxicating scent.
She wanted to think about something else, so her hand went to turn on the radio.
To her instant delight, Taylor’s Shake it off was playing, and just before she started to sing along, he turned it off.
“In this car we don’t listen Taylor Swift”, he said when he saw her bewildered look.
“So, in this car, we don’t listen good music. Good to know”, Eda said and shook her head disappointedly.
“I am not the one here that has a horrible taste in music”, he replied confidently, sneaking a tiny smile on his face.
“You are a horrible taste in music”, Eda said childishly, and to her surprise, he replied it just as childishly, by sticking his tongue out.
Next few minutes were spent in silence. Eda stared through the window, wondering who was this man and why she didn’t want to go home just yet.
Almost as he was reading her mind, he stopped at the red light and turned towards her.
“Do you need to go home?”
“Why?”
“For some weird reason, I still want to hang out you, and you also own me for saving your ass. I didn’t hear a proper thank you, by the way”, he said and turned right when green light appeared.
“You will not get it because you basically kidnapped me. I am not sitting here because of my own free will”, Eda argued and tried to keep the smile of her face.
He sighed dramatically and had a resigned smile on his face. “Alright, what is your address?”
Eda felt a shot of panic running through her body. She didn’t want to go home and probably never see him again…She wasn’t ready for that…
“Think, Eda, think”, she thought and tried to found a good enough excuse to continue their day.
“Actually, I usually drink coffee at this time, and there is none in my house. Sooo…”
Good enough for Eda. Funny enough for him.
“Coffee, yes, of course”, he said amusingly, letting her know that he didn’t buy it.
“Coffee it is.”

They took a small stroll down the street, with Eda glancing at him every now and then. There was something mysterious about him, he was giving some kind of a strange aura that Eda found quite intriguing.
Smell of sweets, food and coffee filled the street as they avoided group of running children. Few steps to the left and Eda found herself in front of a small, old library.
“Why are we here?”, Eda asked him while examining the place.
She could barely see through the stained window, and a sign was hanged just above the old, grey door.
“Leyla’s books”
“I saved your ass back there, and now you are going to save mine”, he said with a smile.
The door creaked as he opened it for her, and Eda entered the room that had woodsy, stale smell and wooden shelves overfilled with books.
Boxes and boxes of books that were covered in dust laid all over the place, making that small place even smaller.
But despite the dirtiness, old future and countless number of boxes, the library still had that warm, homey feeling. It felt like a place where, once a upon a time, love happened, and time tried its best to delete the remaining traces, but somehow it failed.
Why he took her there, Eda didn’t know, but she was grateful for this man that stood next to her and watched her silently.
Somehow, she knew that this library meant a lot to him, she just knew, and in that moment, her heart whispered some forbidden words to her.
Eda’s logic didn’t want to hear them, but she knew, that if this was a romance book, this would be a moment where a main character falls in love.
It was completely unrealistic. She has spent just a few hours with him, she didn’t know him, not at all.
It was completely stupid. He had brought her there, in a small, charming, forgotten place, and he was looking at her, almost like he was searching for something, and she was looking at him, almost like she wanted to be found.
But her was definitely not a romance book, because no matter how much her heart screamed, Eda couldn’t ignore the whispers from her head, that warned her that he will break, destroy and shatter her heart.
Just before his gaze began to feel too much, a warm, kind voice, thankfully, interrupted their moment.
“Serkan! Welcome son, I have started to think that you will break your promise”, the old man, with kind eyes and worn knitted blue sweater greeted Serkan.
“Well at least I know his name now”, Eda thought as she watched him, Serkan, greeting the short man by kissing his right hand and placing it on his forehead.
“Ahmet Bey, I thought you knew me. You know I never break my promises”, Serkan replied and continued to chat with him, under Eda’s curious gaze.
“And who is this young lady?”, the old man, Ahmet Bey, asked Serkan as his eyes turned on her.
“This is my dear friend, we have been brought up together by a great tragedy, don’t ask”, Serkan replied and shook his head in a exaggerated way.
Eda rolled her eyes and greeted the man in a same way as Serkan.
“I am Eda. Nice to meet you”, she said and smiled.
“The pleasure is all mine. I am sorry that you came to all this mess”, Ahmet said and smiled sadly.
Eda always felt sad when she sees lonely older people, but when you also see sadness in their eyes…
“This place used to be the best library in this neighborhood. My wife used to work here…”, Ahmet added, looking around as if he was seeing it for the very time.
“I don’t want you to bore you with my story, but I always loved to talk about her. I have met my Leyla here, I have fallen in love with her here, I proposed to her here. She told me she was pregnant right here. She gave me everything in here, and I wanted to surprise her for once. After many years of saving money, I had finally saved enough to buy this place. When I did that, I waited for her here, excited as a little boy to tell her. That day, Leyla didn’t come. That day, I was told that she died in a car crash. That day, I died with her and our child, only difference is that I was forced to stay here. I never really understood her love for books and reading and all that stuff. But I have started to read the day she died. I thought if I read, I would somehow find her in these pages, words, sentences…I never did. But I never stopped trying. A book, after a book, after a book, and here I am. An old man with a library that nobody visits anymore, who tells stories about his mostly forgotten wife to anyone with hearing capacity…I am sorry…”
Eda didn’t need to think twice when she hurled to hug this poor man.
“Your Leyla was and is still loved by a brave man. Never apologize for that, Ahmet Bey”, Eda quietly said when the hug ended.
Ahmet looked at her, and then at Serkan, and gave him a weird look.
Eda didn’t saw it because she was walking through the library, trying to hide her tears.
“Okay, fellas”, she said and turned to them. “Grab your washcloths. We have a library and a woman to show to the world.”
“It’s happenging again”, Ahmet thought, as he saw the way Serkan looked at her.
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
A few memorable moments happened during the cleaning.
As Eda went through one of the boxes, she clearly heard Serkan humming the same song that he called horrible in the car. When she heard that, Eda, with a huge grin on her face, asked Ahmet to play the song out loud, and he surprisingly accepted it.
It was a hilarious scene, where Ahmet tried to do a few dance movies, together with Eda, while Serkan just stood there, quite entertained and amused.
After they finished, Serkan made a possible rude comment, which caused Eda and Ahmet to look at each other
“Taylor was right. Haters gonna hate, hate, hate.”
Eda laughed, and once again found his gaze on hers.
Serkan was constantly looking at her. During the whole time, Eda would feel his gaze on her, and when she looked back, a small smile would appear on his face.
They spent five hours there, almost half of the job done, and both of them said goodbye to Ahmet, promising him of another visit for tomorrow.
“Is it too late for coffee?”, Serkan asked her while walking down the street.
“I hate coffee”, Eda answered, and only after seeing his face, Eda realized her mistake.
“I mean, it’s late. Let’s save it for tomorrow”, Eda added to save her ass.
“Whatever you say”, Serkan replied with a hint of smugness in his voice.
The ride home was filled with silence, but it was not awkward. Eda enjoyed it almost as much as she enjoyed talking with him.
Eda asked him to drop a couple of houses down the street, explaining that the reason for it was her overprotective father. Serkan seemed quite interested when she mentioned him, which she found amusing.
“Well, that was an interesting day, to say at least”, Eda said and turned to him.
“Indeed it was”, he replied and gently removed a piece of her hair behind her ear, to Eda’s surprise.
“It was nice to meet you, Eda….?”
“Yildiz”, she said, ignoring the weird warmth that was spreading from her ear.
“It was nice to meet you too, Serkan…?”
“Bolat.”
Two of them can play this game, Eda thought. She removed her seatbelt, approached him and kissed his cheek.
“Good night, Serkan Bolat”, Eda whispered and went out of his car with red cheeks, leaving enchanted Serkan behind.
“Good night, Eda Yildiz”, he whispered back and touched the place she kissed with his fingers.
Phone call woke him up from his state, and when he saw who was the caller, he froze.
He slowly accepted the call and brought the phone to his ear.
“Tell me, Agent Bolat. How is the case going? Has Ms.Yildiz fell for your charms?”A/N:
Just thinking about THE SCENE that will happen in the future, and I don't like it, not at all :(((
Also, why do I like this EdSer so much?
