Say something I am giving up on you

Disclaimer: Set during episode 18, when Eda and Serkan had a little chat in a cafeteria...

“After everything we have been through, after everything you have done, you being so close to Selin, how could you be so heartless and rude towards me?”
“What did I do to you?” Eda asked Serkan with tears in his eyes, hoping she would get a decent and honest answer from him. Even through she knew Serkan and honesty don’t get along.
“I was never in love, okay? I can’t withstand watching you here in my office.”
Serkan said those words looking directly in her eyes, breaking her already broken heart.
Eda looked at him and she couldn’t recognize the man she fell in love. The kind, funny, passionate, full in love Serkan was far away from this cold, distant, rude Serkan. She had enough. What is she doing here anyway? Helping find whoever did this to Serkan, despite him breaking up with her, despite Selin being there in his house…. She hoped he would tell her the real reason why he ended their relationship, that her being there will soften his heart and go back to her…She was blind. He gave her real reason right here. He never loved her.
She gave up on her pride when she continued to work in his office. But no more. She will not listen to his belittling and Selin’s smug face.
She could have him if she wanted him. She couldn’t care less anyway.
She smiled at him with tears in her beautiful eyes.
“Well, if that’s the case, I don’t want you to ‘withstand’ anything Serkancim. I am leaving. But I have one more thing to say to you. I hope, with all my heart, that one day, someone will come and that someone will make you fall in love. And then, when you are finally happy, I hope she breaks your heart just the way you broke mine. Goodbye, Robot Bolat. I hope I never see you again” Eda said, left the cafeteria, took her purse and left the office without a single glance.
Serkan watched all of this, with tearful eyes and broken heart, his heart telling him to follow her, to tell her the truth, but his mind stopped him, and he went back to his office, hating himself even more.

Eda was working with the flowers in her aunt’s shop. It was a long day. Efe came by after Eda called him about her resignation. He tried to persuade her to not give up, that they could work in another place, but Eda didn’t want it. She was done. She will never again work for Art life, or work with someone who had any association with it. She didn’t want to have any connections with Serkan.
Selin was his perfect woman and she was a fool for thinking anything different than that.
Efe left after an hour, feeling sad for her, but also curious to find out what will Semiha do now.
So, he called her.
“Semiha hanim, Eda quit her job and doesn’t plan to come back. I think her decision is final.”
“So, my granddaughter finally became reasonable. Did something happen between her and Serkan?”
“She didn’t tell me, but I noticed that she was even more upset and sad than usual, so something probably happened. Maybe he told her about her parents?”
“I don’t think so, he is not enough of a man to admit hit father’s wrong doings.”
“But it is possible.”
“Yeah” her voice became quit.
“What should we do now?”
“We will watch the situation. If Eda doesn’t come back to him in next few weeks, then our work is done. I wanted Eda to not work there and be in any kind of relationship with him, and maybe even hurt his company. Now everything is how I wanted. So, I will send my shares to you, so you do with them how you like. It was part of our deal, after all.”
“Alright then. I will call you if necessary. Goodbye Semiha hanim.”
Semiha said her goodbye and a satisfied smile appeared on her elegant face. She wondered where she will interfere next, a few people already in her mind.

The next morning, Serkan showed up in the office with an ache in both his head and his heart. His head was trying to figure out who sabotaged him, but his heart…His heart was screaming to go to Eda, to beg on his knees until she forgave him. Then, he would tell her the reason why he broke up with her and again, he would beg on his knees to forgive him.
He thought about the way she looked at him yesterday. Like she didn’t know who he was. And the way she told him that she hoped someone else would break his heart. The way he convinced her he never loved her, and the way she thought he would love someone else.
He hated himself. He hated doing this to her. And he hated his father, for ruining the only good thing he had in years.
He looked at her desk and only saw an empty chair. She will not come back. He knew it. And it pained him to know that she quit on him. On them.
But he didn’t blame her. What did he expect after treating her like that? That she would stay him no matter how much he hurt her? No, she was too proud of that.
Serkan felt like crying. He missed her. He missed everything about her. He loved her so much, missed her, craved her, but the only thing he did is loosing her…
After a while, a knock woke up from his daydreaming, where he and Eda were happy and in love.
“Serkan Bey?” he heard Melo’s voice and again pain shot through his body after hearing Melo calling him that. He was her enişte. But he guessed he wasn’t anymore. He would never again be her enişte.
“Yes,Melo?” he looked at her with a small box in her hand and some papers in another.
“Uhm, Eda sent me to give you some stuff you gave her” Melo said sadly as she put the box on a table.
Serkan smiled at it bitterly. She was fast. She didn’t want any piece of him next to her.
“This is mine and Eda’s resignation papers” she added and Serkan looked surprised.
“You are quitting too, Melo?”
“You can call me Melek, Serkan Bey. And yes, I am quitting. Eda needs me. And I don’t want to work here without here anyway.”
Serkan looked at her and realized he lost the only person who supported him since day one. The only one who believed in his and their love. He lost his adorable side kick and friend.
“Don’t call me like that Melo. Wasn’t I your enişte?”
“You were my enişte, Serkan Bey. You were” she answered sadly and left the room, leaving Serkan and taking a part of his heart too.
