...
michael fell asleep on luke shortly before the movie ended. luke didn't mind.
he set michael down onto the car floor and began cleaning up the trash. he didn't mind.
he tried starting the car. it made a grunting noise, then fell silent. luke cursed.
"your battery die, too?" a young man, probably in his early twenties, walked up to luke.
he nods, pulling at his hair a bit.
"one of my buddies is coming over with his truck. I'm sure he'll let you jump start your car with his."
luke smiled slightly. "thanks, man."
they began talking. the young man leaned up against luke's car.
"so, what do you do for a living?" the young man asks, his arms folded over his toned chest.
it was chilly night, and luke closed the trunk of the car just in case the wind became too strong and michael got cold.
luke noticed the young man's raven-colored hair with bits of blond dyed in the front pieces.
"I'm actually an editor." he responds with ease.
"nice, man," the black haired boy smiles. a toothy smile. not something fake or anything. luke decided he liked this guy.
"how about you?" luke asks.
"oh... 'm not really employed at the moment." he mumbles a little, especially towards the end.
"oh, sorry, man," luke looks to the ground.
"so... uh, what's your name?" luke asks after they fall into an uncomfortable silence.
"calum. yours?"
"luke," he clears his throat, "hey there's this job opening for book editing. they were looking for a couple people back when I accepted the job. there should still be more spots."
"that's a good idea. I actually majored in english back in collage."
"you're out of collage?" luke raises his eyebrows slightly.
"what? oh, uh, yeah." calum laughs, "I get asked that a lot."
luke laughs along with calum.
"well, I mean, if you're interested in it I can try to hook you up."
"yeah, sure. what's your number?" calum asked casually, pulling out his phone.
*
michael woke up, yawning. he was still in the car, swaddled by a soft blanket. he sat up.
they were still in the lot, he realized, looking out the window.
he glanced to the other side. a single lamp was lighting the lot. it looked like a black haired boy was standing on the side of the car. he sat up further. luke was standing beside him, slightly laughing. michael took a moment to appreciate his smile.
he didn't know what he thinking messaging calum. michael liked luke.
soon a pickup truck came and parks next to theirs. a man stepped out, tall and burly, and shook luke's hand. michael became uninterested, and began eating the left over popcorn next to him.
his stomach fluttered when he remembered luke pressing a kiss onto his head every time he fed him a gummy bear.
michael yawned, laying back down onto the floor.
he curled up into a ball, eventually falling back asleep again.
*
when michael woke up, he was being carried to his bed.
"hey, kitten." luke cooed, setting him down.
michael rubbed his eyes and sat up.
"let's get you changed before you go under the sheets, yeah?"
he slipped out of his skinny jeans and into a pair of sweatpants.
"arms up." luke said softly, and michael obeyed, lifting his arms above his head. his shirt was slipped off of him, replaced by clean one.
"okay. goodnight." luke breathed as michael crawled into bed.
he mumbled a goodnight as luke walked out of the room, not forgetting to turn off the lights.
luke smiled, walking out of michael's room. he had so much fun tonight. he really liked michael. and he couldn't help but dream about him.
