...

louis was up bright and early sunday morning.

luke got up at least an hour after him. he was still a bit weary about what had happened yesterday, and was reluctant to drop the furry off at ashton's house.

what if he lashes out on louis again?

what if he starts becoming sad again?

the tall blond pushed the thoughts away as best he could and made his way over to ashton's house, leaving his sleeping kitten alone at home.

"if he does so much as shout at you you have to call me, okay?" luke instructed as they made their way closer to ashton's house.

louis smiled, "he won't, luke."

"and if you see him drinking again, get the man fucking help."

"he won't, luke."

"and if he-"

"he won't, luke."

"okay, okay." the blond muttered as they pulled into the driveway.

louis opened the car door, "thank you." he cheesed, closing it and walking up towards the front door.

luke started to pull out of the driveway slowly, watching louis knock on the door and ashton opening it, quickly pulling him in for a tight hug.

luke drove away, not looking back.

michael yawned, stretching his arms above his kitten ears.

he opened his eyes slowly, only to see a blond boy dressed in black sitting on the foot of his bed.

"luke?" he called out, rubbing his eye sleepily.

"morning, kitten." luke turned, kissing michael on the nose. "I think I want to go to the beach today."

michael nodded, sitting up in bed to kiss luke on the lips.

they walked downstairs for breakfast, eating small bowls of cereal, before going back up to change into swimming trunks and tee shirts.

luke found it adorable how michael dressed himself in pink swim trunks and a white tee.

"ready to go?" he asked his kitten, and michael nodded. he quickly followed luke to car, not forgetting to grab his pink backpack and slinging it over his shoulder.

the car ride there was silent and beautiful. there were no clouds in the sky, and luke drew down the windows so the wind was gently blowing in michael's face. he giggled, and luke took hold of his small hand and intertwined their fingers.

luke's mind wandered of as he drove. it was silent, with an acception of michael's laugh and small hum of approval when luke held his hand.

luke had a lot to think about. and although he didn't want to, those damn memories of ashton's dry, cracked lips against his kept making their way into his mind.

as much as he hated ashton for hurting louis and drinking, he felt even more guilty. a little voice in his head scolded him for not keeping in touch with his ex. if he did, ashton wouldn't have been drinking.

yes, he was his ex, but that didn't mean luke still didn't care for him. just... not in the same way. he hoped.

drinking was the reason luke had to stop seeing ashton in the first place, and seeing ashton drunk off his ass and hurting louis only hurt luke - because it reminded him of their relationship.

after breaking up with ashton, he only drank even more. he eventually got a therapist and got better, adopting louis right after and getting back in touch with luke, saying he barely remembered anything and hoped he ended it maturely.

ashton made a full turn around in less than two years and luke had never been so proud, so he started talking to him again.

it didn't hurt that bad to see louis cuddling with him, honestly. ashton was the one who suggested for luke to get michael, even though he knew nothing about furries at the time. and then ashton helped luke learn about furries, teaching him what it was to be dominate.

and then luke screwed it up by paying more attention to michael and neglecting their friendship.

luke felt terrible about it.

but then again, ashton kissed him.

with both young men in relationships, he knew it was wrong.

luke drove into the parking lot near the beach, noticing the tires slight crumble sound against the thin layer of sand on pavement.

michael had lolled of into sleep, his head resting against the glass window. luke ran his thumb over michael's hand, whispering and cooing softly.

"kitten. wake up. we're here."

*

beach days were fun, no doubt about it.

and michael hadn't been to a beach in what felt like forever.

he helped luke set up the large blanket in a secluded part of the sandy place. he set up some sandwiches, pulling out small bottles of lemonade and chips as well.

"hungry, kitten?" luke smiles, receiving a small nod from his baby. the two eat, michael cuddling up next to luke in the process.

they're both on their phones. michael is scrolling through twitter, enjoying the sun hitting his face lightly. luke wrapped an arm around michael's torso and he had the sudden urge to take a picture. so he did.

it was a cute picture, with luke smiling contently with sunglasses covering his eyes. michael's head was on his shoulder, one hand holding a half-eaten sandwich and the other holding out the phone.

"look, lukey." michael cooed in a soft voice. luke looked down at the phone and smiled.

"it's adorable, michael."

"I'm gonna post it onto twitter." michael mumbled.

"mmm. I didn't know you had a twitter, baby." luke hums. michael becomes shy, he doesn't know if he wants luke to see all of his embarrassing photos that he sometimes takes of himself or his room or his surroundings.

"what's your username?"

michael hands luke his phone so he can take a look and luke nods, going onto his and searching michael up.

michael received a small notification; luke had followed him.

"you take wonderful pictures, michael." luke said sweetly, kissing the side of the boy's head.

"thank you."
