Part 35

A/N - sorry this took longer than usual... I meant to do 34 and 35 one right after the other but I got weirdly sick on Thursday and I haven’t been able to write. I’m still really tired but I wanted to post something so I broke 35 into two parts... don’t worry, it is far from over.  If I did my math right (and I most likely didn’t because I have been wrong every guess so far) we have at least 10 or 15 parts left still.

Thanks for sticking with me so far! I really appreciate every one of you so much! You honestly have no idea 💚💚💚💚

(Y/N POV)
A horrible but familiar beeping wakes you and you reach out next to you... but there isn’t anyone there.  You open your eyes and find your alone in the bed.  Sitting up, you turn off the alarm on your phone and wonder where Loki went.  He was always awake when you woke up but he usually just stayed in bed reading until your alarm went off.

You head out of your room and into the living area, thinking maybe he had been called to go somewhere.  There had been a few occasions where he had early meetings or training sessions with Thor but he usually remembered to tell you about it the night before.  You make yourself some coffee and try to push down the uneasy feeling growing inside you. There isn't anything wrong, he just had to leave early and didn't want to wake you, you tell yourself.

You go back into the bedroom and get dressed, drinking your coffee you decide to send him a text. Just to prove to yourself that you're worried for no reason.

Y/N :: morning Mischief :) I guess I missed you, did you have something early I forgot about?

There... problem solved.

You finish getting ready and leave the room. As you wait for the elevator you check your phone and see there is still no response. But that's OK, you think, if he's in a meeting or something he might not have his phone out. He'll get back to you soon, but just in case he missed the first one...

Y/N :: hey, I know you're probably busy, just text me back when you get a second. Miss you Mischief :)

Getting out of the elevator, you turn down the hall towards your office and see someone standing in front of your door.

"Thor?" you ask as you get closer.

"Hi Y/N," he says, not his typical super excited greeting.

"What's wrong? Is Loki OK?" you can feel all the worry you pushed down flooding back up.

"Can we talk inside?" he gestures to your office.

You nod quickly and open the door for him. Before he can take a seat, you close the door an ask him again, "Is Loki OK? He was gone when I got up and he didn't respond to my texts."

“Sit down, Y/N,” Thor says, pointing to the chair next to him.

“I don’t want to sit, I want you to tell me what happened,” you try not to yell but you are having a hard time staying calm.  “Please, tell me he’s ok.”

(THOR POV)
You roll over and look at your clock, its close to 4:30 am.  You sigh loudly, throwing off the covers and getting out of bed.  Whoever is knocking on your door at this hour better have a damn good excuse, you think to yourself as you walk out of your bedroom.  You turn on the light in the living area to see better and open the door to the hallway.

"Brother?" you ask, not able to hide the concern in your voice.  Loki stands in the hall wearing only a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt, not even shoes or socks.  He looks up at you slowly, fidgeting with his fingers.  He doesn't say anything but when you step back he enters your room.

"Loki, what's wrong? What happe-" before you finish your question you realize it wasn't just the dim lights of the hallway. He's in Jotun form, you can't remember the last time you saw him like this. As far as you knew, Loki still masked his true appearance from you and everyone else in the tower. Something must really have shaken him for him to be wandering the halls without his illusion.
