(BUCKY POV)
You sit up slowly and groan as everything around you spins. Closing your eyes tight again for a moment, you open them again and try to focus. The spinning subsidies and you feel your chest and face carefully, everything hurts but nothing seems broken thankfully. You move onto your side and then cautiously try to get to your feet, you stumble a bit but brace yourself with the wall. Once you are standing, you make your way to the broken railing, anxiously listening for signs of Y/N and Loki below you.

"Y/N," you ask loudly, hoping Loki's attempt to wake her had finally worked. You peer carefully over the edge, the feeling of relief when Y/N turns her head up towards you only lasts a moment. She looks heartbroken as her attention returns to Loki who isn't moving.

A door below you slams open, grabbing your attention as Nat enters the stairwell. She sees you standing on the landing above her and quickly heads up the stairs towards you. "What the hell happened? Are you ok?" Nat asks, gesturing towards your cuts and bruises.

You nod your head and take a step or two towards her. "I was wrong, Y/N was brainwashed," you tell her. You blame yourself for not realizing it sooner, Y/N had been with Hyrda too long for them not to at least attempt it. You should have made sure they sent her to Wakanda as soon as she was healed, they could have prevented this from happening.

"Marc triggered Y/N and then... Loki and I tried to wake her... she's so strong now and we didn’t want to hurt her but..." you tell her, pausing as it hurt to breath too deeply.

"Where are they?" Nat asks while she moves to help you stand. "Where are Y/N and Loki?"

You cringe at the memory of Loki putting his arms around Y/N just before pulling her over the edge. You look towards the broken rail, "Down there."

Nat leans over the edge and gasps when she sees the two of them. "Y/N! Loki!" she yells down to them.

(Y/N POV)
You hear Nat say your name and Loki’s but you can't bring yourself to look away from him. You lean forward, your knees tucked under you. Lightly, you brush the hair away from his face with one hand, your other hand cradles Loki's head as he lays partially in your lap.

He groans again as his eyes open slowly as he turns his head up towards you. "Loki, can you hear me?" you ask hopefully.

His eyes focus on yours and he nods slightly. "There you are, Y/N," he says softly as he offers you a smile although you can tell he is in pain and tired. You don't smile back, your guilt still too close to the surface, you almost killed him and Bucky and all you could do was watch it happen. There was nothing you could do to make yourself stop hurting them, all they had wanted to do was protect you and wake you up. You could feel and hear everything around you but you were trapped.

Loki moves and tries to sit up, hissing in pain as he shifts his weight. You tell him to be careful and move slowly, his wounds have stopped bleeding by they were still fresh.

"I'm ok love, I promise," he assures you. He sits back on his knees to face you, his hand raising to cup your cheek lovingly. He leans forward and kisses your forehead then wipes away your tears. "Y/N, are you alright? Did I hurt you?" he asks, his voice filled with concern as he looks into your eyes.

You shake your head, "I'm fine... but are you sure you're ok?" He nods in response, reassuring you again then he looks up to the landing you had been on. You look up as well and see Bucky standing with Nat, his metal hand on the rail and his other hand on his side. You yell up to him to make sure he isn't hurt too badly.

"I'm all good," he tells you. "Nat wants to take me down to the infirmary just in case though. You two should come," he says but you shake your head again.
