Third Person POV:
Ring...Ring...Ring!!!
The loud blaring sound of the alarm filled the room. Mira Kapoor groaned when she heard the sound she hated the most.
She shifted around in her bed, refusing to open her eyes. The bright sunlight beamed into her room, lighting up the entire area.
Mira tossed and turned relentlessly in her small bed that was set in the corner of the room.
She gripped onto her pillow wrapped in a purple cover and brought it over her head.
She patted the area around her violently as she reached for her phone. Finally she caught her phone with her hand.
Without looking up tapped onto the screen hoping to stop the annoying alarm that was going off from her phone.
She sighed in relief when the sound of the alarm finally died and the room was now silent again.
There had only been peace for about ten minutes before she heard a bunch of people screaming loudly below her window.
She jumped and leapt out of her bed hitting the wooden floor with her feet. She ran towards the window with excitement to look outside.
Her family had just shifted houses after her uncle managed to clench a promotion at his job.
Now, with a miracle, she was living in the house that stood right across the bungalow of the one and only Shah Rukh Khan.
Shah Rukh Khan was the most important reason Mira had wanted to be an actress when she grows up.
He's the reason she studied so hard and got a scholarship to a school filled with celebrity kids.
He was her inspiration, well him and the fact that if she became an actress, she could get away from her aunt.
Mira's aunt, as in her late dad's sister-in-law, Seema Kapoor, was by far the cruelest person Mira had ever encountered.
Mira's aunt and her two spoilt and bratty children insisted that Mira lives in the smallest room in the house.
As of now Mira is not complaining because the smallest room of the house gives a perfect view of 'Mannat'.
She peered out of the window excitedly, her eyes still hurting from the bright sunlight. She rubbed her eyes vigorously as she waited.
Shah Rukh Khan hadn't come out to the famous balcony yet so Mira was left eagerly waiting.
It had been about two weeks since her family had shifted here but she hadn't had the chance to see Shah Rukh Khan.
"MIRA!!" Mira jumped up when she heard her aunt's voice. Her head hit the window when she tried to get her head back inside.
"YOU BETTER BE UP!!" She heard her aunt shout from downstairs. She panicked as she rushed around to freshen up.
Without making too much noise she stepped out of her bathroom and cleaned up her room to make it seem as if she had been up for ages.
Mira's parents had passed away in a fire that sparked up in their old house when she was merely five years old.
Since then, Mira's uncle, Sooraj Kapoor and his family had taken her in which clearly didn't have the approval of Seema Kapoor.
Seema and Sooraj Kapoor have faternal twins straight from hell, Rehan and Mehek, Mira's cousins.
They were both younger than Mira by three years but they bossed her around as if they were ten years older.
Mira was unable to ever retaliate against them because their mom would always jump in and scold Mira instead.
Before walking downstairs to meet her unfortunate fate, she put on a pair of black leggings that she topped with a pink sweater.
Her aunt was too stingy to ever get her new clothes. Even if she did, they won't be of very good quality.
Even though Mehek is only thirteen years old, she is well developed which is why her mom makes Mira wear Mehek's hand-me-downs.
"Ew you've make my sweater look so ugly each time you wear it" Mehek whined as Mira walked down the staircase.
"Can you at least try to not make my daughter's old clothes look so nasty?" Seema angrily said to her niece.
"Sorry" Mira mumbled. "Whatever go make us some breakfast" Seema said as she turned her attention back to the television.
"Okay" Mira walked into the kitchen like she has done every morning for years. She was taught to cook for everyone at the age of ten.
Her aunt makes her slave in the kitchen and make her do all the house chores even though they are rich enough to afford help.
Mira even has to clean Mehek and Rehan's rooms and clean up after them. "Go help your cousin Mehek"
Mira smiled when she heard her uncle caring for her. He was the only one who treated her like family and not a maid.
"But papa my nails" Mehek whined to her dad causing Mira to roll her eyes. What a spoilt princess. Mira thought to herself.
"Leave her be. Plus Mira needs the training, she's older and needs to marry off first" Seema said.
"Marry her?" Sooraj asked. "Yes of course. It's going to be so difficult with how she looks but we can't keep this burden forever"
Mira's eyes filled with tears but she pushed them away. This was nothing she hadn't heard before.
In the earlier years when Mira moved in with them, her aunt tried to at least hide her hatred in front of her uncle.
By now, she is completely open with it and doesn't care about any judgment. She openly belittles her everyday.
She makes sure to point out every single insecurity Mira has and makes sure to scold her mercilessly.
Mira had never understood where all this hatred came from. Maybe it was just because her aunt was forced to care for her.
Mira loves her uncle with everything she has, which is not much, but she wished he would have the balls stand up to his wife.
At the same time, Mira also thought: If I haven't been able to stand up, why should he have to?
