Chapter 5

"Did you purposely choose a seat behind your admirer?" I heard Aryan's friend whisper loudly to him.

"Can't have her look at me all lesson can I?" Aryan joked. My cheeks were turning by the second.

"Hi Aryan" Meera and I turned to see Gia seductively address Aryan. She made sure to lean forward and reach over to graze his forearms with her fingers.

I turned back to Meera and we both snorted softly, making sure we don't catch her attention.

"Alright listen up!" The students who were sat on the tables chatting with their friends got down to their seats.

Those who had their feet up, immediately straightened out themselves. Everyone settled down as soon as the teacher walked in.

Our teacher dropped his books onto the teacher's desk before placing his coffee next to them.

"I'm Mr Jain and I will be the teacher in charge for your class this year" He told us. "I will also be your drama teacher" He added.

"Now let's move on to the attendance" He picked up the clipboard with the attendance sheet attached.

He sat on the edge of his table and started reading of the names. "Ahaan Pandey?" I pondered over the familiarity of that name.

He was sitting beside Aryan and I watched him raised his hand from the corner of my eye. Oh right his best friend.

"Aryan Khan?" My ears decided to perk up involuntarily at his name. "Right here" He said boldly. Fuck his voice.

I shook myself from the thoughts of Aryan while our teacher continued. "Gia Mital...Jai Arshad...Meera Seth" He called out as I drank my water.

"Mira Kapoor" He caught me off guard and I tried to speak up forgetting I had a mouthful of water.

I choked in front of everyone in my class on the first day. "Ri–" I coughed loudly and everyone started laughing at me.

"Right...here" I finally was able to say. Mr Jain nodded I didn't dare to look around at all the eyes on me.

Tears formed in my eyes when the water hit the wrong portion of my throat but some tears were from the embarrassment.

Meera patted my back lightly, trying to make sure I was okay. "What a dork" I heard Aryan say behind me.

Mr Jain started to leave the classroom soon after taking our attendance. "Enjoy your classes for the day" He said.

"And don't forget you have drama with me during the last period" He reminded us before he walked out.

The rest of the classes went by pretty smoothly. It was difficult to concentrate with Aryan right behind me.

Every time he talked to his friends, chills went down my spine. No matter how closely I place my chair to my table, it was still too close to his.

"Hey do you want a drink?" I asked Meera as we put down our trays on the cafeteria table. "Sure thing" I went to get us both some drinks.

I stood in front of the drinks stall and looked at their options that were written in chalk above the stall.

I took my time to decide what to have not realising that would lead to another embarrassing moment.

"Do you always just stand in the middle of nowhere?" I tensed up and froze when I heard Aryan's voice.

"Uhm hello?" I snapped out and slowly turned around to face him. Damn he looks even better up close.
