"I said I'm fine" I told him with a huff as I pushed back onto my chair with my arms crossed.

He didn't say anything, instead just kept driving. I saw his hands clutched onto the steering wheel.

I furrowed my eyebrows when I saw the anger on his face. His jaw clenched and he sped up the car and drove faster.

"Why the fuck are you angry?!" I snapped at him. "It's not like you were humiliated and betrayed!" I shouted.

He remained silent but I felt him slow down. His grip around the wheel softened and so did his facial expressions.

He parked his car in front of the hospital. He told me to follow him. "Let's go" He said when he realised I wasn't moving.

"No" I simply said. "Mira it's important to see if you're hurt or not" He told me. "I am hurt but the hospital can't fix this injury" I said.

"Mira..." He started but didn't know how to finish his sentence. "Why Aryan?" I asked. My eyes filling with tears.

"Mira I'm so sorry" I scoffed at his apology and looked away. I wiped away my tears. I didn't want to cry especially because of him.

"I was being an idiot and I know that's not an excuse but this is not how I wante–" "Stop" I interrupted him.

"I take it back" I said. "I don't want to hear your explanation because I frankly don't care" I snapped at him.

"Now take me home" I demanded. I heard him sigh. I didn't look at him. Just waited to hear the engine restart.

"If you don't care about my explanation then alright I won't burden you with one" He told me.

"But" My ears perked. "I care about your health so whether you like it or not..." I heard the car door open and slam shut.

I whipped my head towards him and watched him step out of his car. He walked over to my side and opened my door.

He leaned over and unbuckled my seatbelt. Before I could say anything, he picked me up and took me out of the car.

He shut the door with his knee and carried towards the hospital. "...We're going to the hospital" He finally finished his sentence.

"Aryan put me down" I demanded. I grunted as I tried to escape from his grasp. "No" He said coldly.

"She's hurt" He told a nurse who just looked at him blankly. I was pretty sure that's not how you register at a hospital but he did not care.

Aryan finally put me down when we entered the room. He made me sit in front of the doctor who gave us a look.

Aryan made sure to stay there throughout the entire examination. "You will be alright in a couple of days" The doctor assured me.

I knew I would be fine. I've handled injuries much worse. I leaned over the counter as the nurse gave me my medicine.

I looked over and saw the doctor pull Aryan away and whisper something to him. I watched Aryan look concerned.

"Here you go" I turned my attention back to the nurse. "Thank you" I smiled before turning back to Aryan who was now alone.

"Do you need me to carry you back to the car as well" I rolled my eyes at him. "What did the doctor say?" I asked.

"Nothing" He simply said. We sat in the car but I could tell he wasn't himself. "Ar–" I stopped myself.

I have no reason to care about him. I wasn't about to be swayed by him again. "Are we done now?" He nodded.

We drove in silence. I took a quick glance at the clock. At least I wasn't late so my aunt won't give me shit tonight.

"Everything–" Aryan started. "Every–everything is alright at home right?" Aryan asked with hesitation.

I wondered why he was so nervous about the question and why he was asking it. Then I remembered him talking to the doctor.

Did the doctor see an old bruise? Did he inform Aryan about it? Shit. "Can you stop pretending you care about my life?" I said.

I needed to keep it harsh so he would let it go. If Aryan had asked me this question on the way to the party I would've told him.

I wouldn't lie to him about my situation at home. That's how much I trusted him before the party but now everything was different.

It felt like I didn't know him at all. He was just rude snob who didn't care about the feelings of others.

He stopped right in front of my house. I could tell Suhana's party was still ongoing so Rehan and Mehek were definitely not home.

I sighed in relief. My hellish cousins weren't home so I won't have to deal with them. Plus, I was early so my aunt won't taunt me tonight.

I didn't bother saying goodbye to Aryan. I simply stepped out of the car and ran to the front door.

"You're early" My aunt was sitting in the living room. "Yes was tired" I told her. "What's that?" She asked me.

I looked down to the plastic bag that held my medicines. I rushed to think of a lie. "It's my friends' she forgot it at the party" I told her.

She must've been tired so she let it go. "My phone is upstairs" She said. "Call Mehek from yours" She instructed.

My eyes widened when I realised that I didn't have my phone with me. "Where is your phone?" She asked angrily.

"I–I–must've–" I jumped when she shouted at me. "Must've what?!" "Left it in Aryan's car" I told her.

"I'll go get it" I stopped immediately once she shouted again. "Don't you dare!" She walked towards me.

"Any excuse to meet him again" She accused me. "Believe me he is the last person I want to see" I told her.

"Are you talking back to me?" She gritted her teeth. I gulped hard realising what I did. Her hand came into contact with my cheek.
