My eyes burnt as I try to open them. I felt water droplets lightly splashing onto my face.

I could hear Aryan's voice trying to get me to regain consciousness.

There were several people who were giving him suggestions on how to help me.

I finally managed to open my eyes and a very relieved Aryan was standing in front of me.

"Fuck Mira you scared the shit out of me" He said. I groaned as I tried to get up. He helped me stand up on my feet.

He must've placed me onto a nearby bench when I had fainted. "What happened to you?" He asked out of concern.

I looked around and saw people walk away now that I was awake. "I–uh–I–"

I tried to think of an excuse because I didn't want to tell him I haven't eaten.

"I think it was just too hot" I lied to him. "Come I'll drop you home" He said as he brought me to his bike.

I clung onto him as we entered our street. "Stop!" I shouted. Aryan panicked and immediately stopped.

"What? What happened?" He turned his around to look at me. "I uh can walk from here" I told him.

"Mira you live across from me" He said. "Yeah but I–" My mind was extremely tired so I didn't realise this before.

"How do you know where I live?" I asked. I just realised I never told him I live across from him.

In fact, I didn't even give my address to him and he just started riding. "Aryan?" I urged him to answer.

"Oh uhm I was standing in the balcony the other day and I can see your room" He explained.

My eyes widened in shock. "You saw me in my room?" I asked in shock. "Well I didn't see anything I shouldn't see" He defended.

"I just saw you walking by the window and I happened to see it was you" He told me.

At least he didn't see me crying or tending to my bruises or so I thought.

"I don't want my family to see me with you" I told him. "Why?" He asked confused.

"They'll freak out if they see me with a boy" He chuckled. "Alright fine" He allowed me to get off and he rode off.

The next few days, Aryan dropped me home in the exact same way. He would stop at the end of the street and let me walk the rest.

The school noticed our closeness and it was really irritating Gia. She constantly picks fights with me every chance she gets.

I don't get how she doesn't understand that even if I didn't exist, Aryan already shows he has no interest in her.

Today was Friday, the last school day of our first week. We were chatting amongst ourselves at the foyer of the school.

"Alright so it's settled" Ahaan said. I frowned slightly because I knew I was going to disappoint all of them.

"Yeap party at my house tomorrow night" Aryan confirmed. "We gotta decide what we're going to wear" Meera said excitedly.

"Wear whatever you want I'll be taking it off anyways" Jai told her making Meera smack his arm. "Privacy is dead aint it" Rhea said.

Meera and Jai weren't dating but all of us knew they had a spark between them which is going to turn into something soon.

"But Meera is right let's FaceTime tonight to decide" Sona suggested. Rhea and Meera agreed then looked at me.

"Uhm I don't think I can make it" I told them but they didn't think I was talking about the party.

"That's alright just text us and we'll help you decide" Rhea said. "No as in I can't make it to the party" I said awkwardly.

"What?!" All of them said together. "Why?" Aryan asked. "Well I–" "No no you have to come it won't be fun" Karan pointed out.

"Yeah dude no excuses" Ahaan told me. Aryan and Jai nodded in agreement. I looked at them guiltily but of course I couldn't go.

"Come on you're gonna leave us one girl short" Meera pouted. Our group has exactly four boys and four girls.

"Guys I'm really sorry but I can't make it" I told them again. "But why though?" Jai asked and the rest looked on.

"My family is quite strict so they won't let me go out so late" I simply said. "But you only live ac–a little away from my place"

Aryan ensured to stop himself right on time. I had asked him to keep my address a secret because of my aunt.

Although, I didn't tell him the aunt part of course. He was just kind enough to agree even though he found it strange.

"Alright you know what" I started. "I'll go home and ask" I told them. "Maybe they will actually let me go" They agreed with that.

I wasn't going to ask my aunt. I chose life instead but I couldn't disappoint my friends either so I had to lie.

As I was serving food to my aunt and cousins, I heard Mehek talk about a party. Apparently, Aryan's sister, Suhana was also throwing one.

"You definitely should go" My aunt told her children. That was a reaction I would never get if I asked for Aryan.

"Don't you go to school with Aryan?" Rehan asked. "Even Aryan thinks you're a loser and didn't invite you" Rehan joked.

All of three of them laughed at me not knowing that Aryan told me he'd cancel the party if I don't come.

Aryan's POV:
I was sprawled onto the lawn chair with my legs hanging from the side. I faced the wall and threw a cricket ball at it.

The ball bounced off the wall and I caught it with my hand. The sun set as I continued my little game.

"What's wrong with you?" Suhana asked. "Not now" I told her. "Oh boy something big happened" She joked.

"I invited someone for the party but I don't think she's coming" I told her. "Is she important?" I nodded. "Very" I said.

"Then go and convince her" She suggested. "It's not her, it's her family" I explained. "Oh damn that's a tough one" I nodded.

"Well maybe next time then" She said before she changed the topic. I bounced the ball back and forth as she talked.

"Can I have the whole house to myself for the party?" She asked. "I mean like you don't want to party with middle school kids" She argued.

"Yeah sure" I simply said. I was quite frankly unbothered by wherever the party is held. I just wanted Mira to be there.

"Bhaiyya it's just one girl and one party why're you acting like devdas" I gave her a look but didn't say anything.

"If it means so much to you convince her parents" She joked but I took that seriously. "I could do that" I said.

"Are you crazy?" She asked. "Where does she even live?" I pointed to the house across from ours. "Right there" I told her.

"Wait the Kapoors? Are you talking about Mira Kapoor?" She asked. "Yeah how do you know her?" I asked.

"Her cousins are my schoolmates. Rehan and Mehek" She told me. "Are you sure?" I asked. She nodded.

"Yeah they told me they live opposite" She said. "They self-invited themselves to the party" She rolled her eyes.

"Self?" She nodded. "I hope the cousin is better than them" She said. "But you have nothing to worry because they're coming"

"But Mira just texted me five minutes ago that she can't come" I told her. "Wait her family is allowing the other two to go but not you?"

"How did her parents allow that?" She asked. "She doesn't have parents. Her aunt and uncle raised her" I told her.

"You don't think her aunt would be a type of person to stop Mira but let her children have fun do you?" Suhana asked.

I got up from the chair and grabbed my phone. "Let's go find out" I told her and we walked over to Mira's house.
