I pushed my way through the crowd in school and tried to avoid everyone. Without a doubt, everyone in school had heard about the scene that Gia created at Aryan's party.

Whichever way I looked I either saw someone take pity on me or laugh at me. I just shook my head and focused my attention onto the floor of the school.

I walked with my head down through the hallway. I dreaded stepping into the class but I had no choice. I didn't look at anybody. Just kept my head down and walked to my seat.

I hoped that Aryan wouldn't show today. I had no mood of sitting with him throughout the day. Even if he wouldn't show up today, how would it matter? I still had to sit next to him the whole year anyways.

I heard Gia and her minions snicker away behind me and I tried my best to ignore. "You okay?" I turned when I heard Meera's voice. She was sat in Aryan's seat. I just gave her a little smile and nodded.

"I don't want to talk about it" I whispered to her and she nodded in understanding. Both of us looked up when Aryan stood by his desk. Meera glared at him before she left his seat and went back to hers.

I looked away as Aryan sat down. He didn't say anything which I was thankful for. That unfortunately changed when our drama teacher walked in.

"Mira..." I shut my eyes when Aryan leaned in to talk to me. The whole class were in the midst of discussion with their partners. "We have to discuss" I rolled my eyes.

"Since when does Aryan Khan care about grades?" I finally looked at him. "You don't know anything about me" He simply replied.

"Now don't ruin my grades because you can't get over a joke" I looked at him with disbelief when he uttered those words from his mouth.

The ball rang and everyone walked out of the class for lunch. Aryan left as well with the rest. Meera and the other girls sat with me and they agreed to not talk about the boys.

"Just a joke" I repeated to myself. "Did you say something?" My friends asked. "Oh no nothing" I assured them.

"My house. 6pm. We are already behind" Aryan said to me before he walked out of our classroom after the last period. He didn't even wait for my response. Asshole.

I paced my bedroom over and over again wondering what I should do. I was dreading going to Aryan's house and working with him on a stupid project.

Unfortunately I knew I had no choice. I cared about my grades, especially of this class. I couldn't let Aryan ruin my chance of leaving this awful household and reaching my goals.

The problem was even if I were to willingly go to Aryan's house, my aunt would never let me. How could I ask for her permission? My aunt would beat me and taunt me senseless before I even complete the sentence.

I picked up my phone and took a deep breath before I dialled Aryan's number. The sound of the line ringing filled my ears as I waited for him to pick up.

"Hello?" I was hoping he wouldn't answer the call. Crap. "Hey" I finally was able to let out. "Is there a problem?" He asked me. "I know it's almost six but I don't think I can make it" I told him.

"Look if you can't work with me then maybe we should tell the teacher and change partners" He said blatantly. "No that's not why" I immediately jumped in. What the fuck?

I cursed at myself for taking away my chance to change partners. What is wrong with me? I just had to get defensive. "Then what?" I knew he was confused.

"I–my aunt" I didn't want to explain. I just hoped he would understand. "Oh" He said. "Alright just be in your room alone at 8pm"

He instructed and yet again didn't wait for a response. My eyes widened when I realised what he was going to do. Fuck.

It was ten minutes past eight and I finished off my work in the kitchen. Thankfully it was a peaceful day in the house which are very rare.

I didn't bother having any dinner because I was scared Aryan would be here soon even though I was starving.

I walked into my room and carefully locked the door. I almost screamed when I turned around and saw Aryan on my bed.

He tried to hide his amused look but clearly failed. "Relax will you" He chuckled. "You have to stop doing that" I scolded him in a whisper.

"Did you eat?" He asked me randomly. "Yeah why?" I laid out my books and notes. I figured we should wrap this up as soon as possible so he can get out of my house.

"It's just I've been here for about fifteen minutes and all I heard was you bringing food to others" He stated.

"Did you eat?" He asked again. "Yes" I said annoyed. "I ate before" I rushed to change the topic and thankfully he let it go.

The first assignment was to come with an idea for a script and write the first draft. Aryan's phone buzzed about an hour into our discussion.

"Oh gimme a minute" He said. I nodded and figured he got up to answer a call but instead he jumped out of the window. "Wha–?" I was left stunned in my room.

Within a couple of minutes, he was climbing back in but this time he had a brown bag with him. "Got hungry waiting so I ordered" He told me.

"Uhm I got some for you and yeah I know you ate" He didn't look at me just tossed me a burger and laid out some fries.

I smiled at his sweetness and for a second, I almost forgot about what he had done to me. Almost.
