The next day, I rushed out of the house before anyone could see me. I climbed into the auto and made sure he started driving immediately.

"Hey you look really tired" Meera pointed out. "All good?" She asked. I smiled at her concern.

"Yeah just uhm not enough sleep" I told her. She nodded in understanding and sat in her seat while I sat in mine.

Not enough sleep was true but I conveniently took out the fact that I hadn't eaten since yesterday at lunch with her.

"Morning" Aryan greeted me as he sat down. I was too tired and frankly didn't have the energy so I just nodded.

"Ayo Aryan come watch this" A friend of his who got switched to the front of the class called him over.

I was glad he left for a bit because I was not in the mood. Despite that Aryan spend the whole day being too close to me.

I sighed in relief when I smelled the food from the cafeteria. Lunch time had finally rolled in and I could finally eat something.

"I'll grab a seat" Meera said. Before I could walk to any stalls, Gia walked up to me. She stood in front of me with a glare.

I looked at her blankly as she just stood there. "What are you doing" She asked. Me? She's standing in front of me.

"Stay the fuck away from Aryan" She warned me. Uh say what now? "He's mine" I mean he's not mine but definitely not yours either.

It took my mind a couple of seconds to register that I wasn't actually speaking to her out loud.

My brain and my mouth were apparently not cooperating with each other so I was just staring at her like a deer the whole time.

"You're just no match for Aryan" She continued. "Aryan should be with someone different" She said proudly.

"You know someone who's sophisticated, pretty and has a dressing sense" She looked me up and down.

"Someone who doesn't wear mud with their sneakers" She said mockingly and her little minions snickered at the back.

"Well I hope you have a plan on how are you're going to find that girl for him because you sure as hell won't find her by looking into a mirror" I snapped at her.

I didn't realise while Gia was talking to me that she had caught the attention of several students in the cafeteria.

All of them laughed at my response and Gia started to fume. "How dare you?!" She yelled. "Who do you think you are?!" She screamed.

I had gotten enough slaps in my life to know how they start. I know how a person positions themselves and raise their hand.

I flinched and shut my eyes waiting for her hand to come into contact with my face but the contact never happened.

I slowly peered open my eyes to see why she hadn't slapped me yet. I remained in shock when I saw Aryan holding her wrist midair.

"Gia don't you dare" He warned her. His voice was firm and rough. Anyone could tell that Gia was terrified.

"Aryan you're defending her over me?" She asked in disbelief. "Yes" He simply said. His hand still gripping onto her wrist tightly.

"Fine whatever" She gave up and ripped her wrist from his hand. She huffed and turned around dramatically before leaving.

"You okay?" Aryan leaned in and asked softly. I slowly nodded and smiled. "Thank you Aryan" I said.

"Anytime" He guided me to the table Meera picked out and sat me down. They made sure I was alright because I looked weak.

I needed to eat but I didn't want to seem so desperate since it would raise questions that I don't want to answer.

Before I could even mention food, the school bell ring. I looked up in disbelief as to how fast lunch was over.

"Class time I guess" Meera said. "Gotta wait till after school to eat" She pointed out. I slowly got up and tried to keep ip with them.

"It's a good thing I had a big breakfast this morning" Meera told us. Meanwhile I hadn't eaten anything for twenty-four hours.

I couldn't think straight the rest of the day. I survived merely on water because that's the only thing I had access to.

"Hey you good?" Meera asked as we left the school gate. "You've been out of it the whole day" I just nodded.

I had no energy to give a proper answer. "You seem really tired let me drop you home" She offered.

Meera didn't know I walked all the way home. She just assumed that I take the auto like in the mornings.

"No Meera it's fine" She still insisted. "Our houses are in the opposite direction" I told her. "Doesn't make sense" I reminded her.

"Yeah okay" She gave up and sat in her car. I waited for her to leave before I started walking towards my house.

The sun was shining and the heat was making it impossible to walk properly. I was starting to see black spots.

No no not here. I thought to myself when I realised that I was about to faint in the middle of the street.

I jumped when I heard Aryan's voice. "Lift?" He asked me. I looked around to see where he even came from.

"What're you looking at?" He asked confused. He sat on his bike with his shades on. His friend seemed nowhere in sight.

Someone bumped into me and I fell back a few steps more than I should've. My body was to weak at that point so I kept falling.

Aryan reached out and grabbed my hand. He tried to hold me steady so I don't fall. He got off his bike and held me close.

"You good?" He chuckled lightly as he did not completely understanding what was going on with me. "Ye–"

I couldn't complete my sentence because my eyes rolled up and I fell unconscious in his arms.
