Chapter 46

 "We're not sleeping on the same bed, Kael!" My tone was dripping with strictness and finality when Kael put me down on the floor.

He brought me inside the master bedroom and lots of memories flooded my mind. I shook my head—not even hiding it from Kael—to remove the unwanted memories running on my head.

"As much as I want to sleep beside you," he sighed a deep breath before he continued, "sa couch sa baba ako matutulog."

I was heaving deep breaths while my eyes were glued to him. Seryoso siyang nakatingin sa akin.

Nagpakawala ako ng isang malalim na buntong-hininga at tumango sa kanya.

"Good." I looked at the bed. It was our bed. And the fucking funny thing is that the sheets and pillowcases are the same to the ones I left! Parang hindi man lang pinalitan ang mga ito. Pero imposible ring hindi napalitan dahil mukhang bago pa iyong mga sapin.

Seriously? Nagkataon lang bang ginamit niya ulit ang mga ito ngayong dinala niya ako rito o meron siyang supply ng ganito sa pare-parehong kulay at designs?

Bumuntong himinga ulit ako bago siya hinarap. "Get whatever you need so that you can leave me alone."

His brows twitched, but his overall demeanor was unfazed. "I already have a pillow and blanket downstairs," namamaos na sagot niya.

Tumango ulit ako. "Okay. Labas ka na," utos ko. Makapal na kung makapal ang mukha ko pero ayokong nasa loob kami ng isang enclosed na lugar. Hindi ako komportable.

"Are you locking the door?" he asked randomly. Ang noo ko naman ang kumunot.

"W-why—o-of course!"

A ghost of smile was slowly appearing on his face. Of course, he heard how I stammered. Damn it!

"Why? Are you afraid I might get in while you are sleeping?"

"O-of course... not!"

"Then why?"

Now, he looked amused! Anong gusto niyang palabasin sa mga tanungan niya?

I cleared my throat. Relax, Gianna!

"Do I have to explain everything to you, Kael? E sa trip kong i-lock ang pinto! Pakialam mo ba ha?"

Hindi ko na napigilan pang pagtaasan siya ng boses. Nakakainis lang dahil I felt kind of disturbed dahil sa mga tanong niya! At bakit? May plano ba siyang pasukin ang kwarto habang natutulog ako?

"Baby, there's no need for you to shout," malumanay na aniya at mas lalo lang akong nairita dahil nakikita ko sa expression ng mukha niyang natutuwa siya sa nakikita niyang reaksyon ko!

"E sa gusto kong sumigaw! Bakit ba lahat na lang pinapakialaman mo?!"

"I can hear you, without shouting even."

"No! Hindi mo ako naririnig! Dahil kung oo, hindi ka tanong... ng... tanong..." My voice trailed off when he closed the distance between us. He's just about a foot away from me now. Amoy na amoy ko tuloy ang pabango niyang kanina ko pa pinipigilang singhutin habang buhat-buhat niya 'ko paakyat dito!

"I can perfectly hear you now, baby. Or do you want me to come closer?" he asked casually while he was staring right into my eye.

Irritation hit my head. Pero mas lamang na ang iritasyon ko sa sarili ko ngayon!

At saka bakit mas lalong bumilis ang tibok ng puso ko? Damn it, Gianna Salazar! Hindi ka tumakbo sa marathon para bumilis ng ganito ang tibok ng puso mo!

At nadoble lang ang bilis no'n nang bumaba ang mga mata ni Kael sa labi ko!

I tried to push him with all my might, but it was futile because he didn't even budge! Tangina! I blame my lack of energy to what have happened a while back!
