"Are you ready?" I asked Matt from my room.
"Almost." I'm putting my combat boots on when I heard footsteps coming towards my room. Matt lightly knocks on the door and looks at me, "Hey, about last night-"
I cut him off, "Look, I'm sorry, its just emotions were running and stuff, I know things aren't like that with us. You don't feel like that I mean."
"Don't be sorry..." He looked a little disappointed. "And don't be so sure."
I didn't really know what that meant but I decided to set it aside for the time being. "Let's get going."
We walked out of our penthouse and waved to Rose as we left. We went straight to Waterloo. It was pretty big, so head quarters could be hidden anywhere. We decided to scope out the place first. We split up to see if we could get any leads. Anyone that was going into headqaurters we needed to follow. I walked around by myself for about a half hour and saw nothing out of the usual. When we went to AOSS headquarters there was a secret way to get in and if you'd seen someone doing it, you'd know something was up, but I hadn't seen anything out of the ordinary. I telepathically sent a message to Matt asking him if he'd seen anything but he had just as bad as luck as I did. That is until two more hours passed. I sent Matt a telepathic message to meet me where I was and to hurry. "Where is it?" He said as soon as he got there.
"Look over there." I said as I motioned to what looked like a break room. It was probably used for all the workers of the station during their breaks.
"An office? Reagan I really doubt the Malum headquarters is out in the open like that."
"I know, it's wierd right? But look closely at the door knob. It might take a couple people but just wait." It took about ten minutes of focusing on the door knob and waiting for a Malum to show up but they did show up. We probably missed the first five Malums but it was hard to disguise intently starring at a door knob. Finally a guy around his late twenties appeared and opened up the break room door. Just before he touched the door knob a purple orb appeared in between his palm and the knob. It was the type of thing you would never be able to detect normally and even if you did you wouldn't question it, just like the entrance to AOSS headquarters. But me having been dealing with spying and magic lately, I've learned that something you need to question things.
"So that spark is the key in?" Matt asked.
"Yup. Now we need to figure out how to make the key?"
"I have a feeling that a locksmith can't help us."
"I wish it were that easy." I stood there thinking about what we could do. "We have to get in without attracting attention."
"What if we read the next person's mind to try to find out how he's getting in?"
"Should I do it or do you want to?"
"I'll do it." I saw his whole mood change as he focused. Someone approached the door but this time they weren't alone. The guys looked younger than the rest of the people that I had seen enter the door before. They were at most 18 years old. While they were opening the door their mood shifted a bit. Before they were relaxed but for a slight second they tensed up and looked at their surroundings. "Reagan quick, I changed their thoughts for a little to distract them. You need to try and pull in some of their power. Thats why these two came together, one of them doesn't know how to harness energy, atleast not as much as the other one does."
"I don't know how to do that either!"
"You may not know but you definitly have the power to so just try and quick before they snap out of it completly and go in."
I walked up to the two guys and they were a bit taken aback. "Hey, I'm Eva," I stook my hand out so the guy could shake it. He was tall, maybe even taller than six foot and had middle eastern features. He reminded me a lot of Zayn Malik. His friend was a bit shorter but still on the taller side. He looked like he was Portoguese. When the guy finally shook my hand, I took in some of his energy.
"West. And this is Tex.
West took my hand and that's when I pulled in the energy. I did it slowly because I wanted to make it as unnoticeable as possible. He just kind of looked at me and smirked. When I got the energy I needed I pulled back my hand and said, "Oh sorry," and forced myself to blush.
"So, are you from around here?" Tex stepped into the conversation.
"No actually, I'm studying abroad. I'm an accelerated student. Are you from around here?"
This time West answered, "Sort of. I've lived here since I was 14, I'm 18 now. Tex moved here two years ago. So I guess you probably don't know it around here?"
"Not at all. London's huge."
"Maybe we could hang out sometime. Tex and I are usually pretty bored." He pulled out his phone and handed it to me, which I assumed was a request for me to enter in my number.
"Sounds good." I handed him his phone back and said bye. I turned around and headed towards Matt who had an eyebrow raised.
"I can't believe it."
"Believe what?'
"Even in a foreign country, while you're stealing energy from a guy, you get hit on."
"I was not getting hit on! I was making friends." I turned back towards the office door just as it was closing. The guys must've gone in. "Come on." I walked back toward the door and looked around. It didn't seem as if anyone way coming our way so I proceeded. I put my hand so that it was almost on the door knob and released the energy. I turned back and looked at Matt and then turned the knob. We stepped in and closed the door behind us. We were in a small hallway with another door ahead of us. I took a wild guess and used the energy I had left to open it. It worked.
