I didn't know if it was the loss of blood due to my cut on my head or actually nervousness, but I was a little scared to go to headquarters. I mean the people who are basically in charge of what I do are going to be in my presence within seconds. Nevertheless, I teleported the five of us to New York headquarters, so that we could return the demon ring to them and they could put it back in a safe place. We appeared in front of a hotel with big gargoyles on each corner of the skyscraper like building. "Um, Henderson, did I bring us to the right place?"

"Yeah, just follow me; we're sorta on the outside of headquarters." He replied and began leading us to the back of the hotel. When we reached the back there were two more gargoyles mimicking the ones from the front. I was confused as to why there needed to be gargoyles in the back alley of a hotel, but I tried not to over think it. Henderson then breathed into his hands, rubbed them together, and pat the gargoyle twice and pet it. On the base of the gargoyle a door appeared and Henderson motioned for us to follow. The door led to a staircase hallway that led to an underground building. We were at headquarters.

As Henderson kept leading the way I couldn't help but ask, "What was that whole pat thing up there?"

"Oh, that's how you open the door and it needs to detect a certain amount of heat to open."

"Interesting," I looked around and noticed all the detail in this place. Dome shaped ceilings, silver chandeliers, and glass furniture surrounded the place. The only thing not glass was the seating. Finally we reached a door that was very dark wood and you guessed it, a glass door knob. When Henderson opened the door a bright white room was revealed and in it there was a serious looking man wearing a suit with a dark blue tie.

"Henderson! Did you retrieve the demon ring?" The man had a deep voice that echoed in the white room.

"Its right here sir." Henderson reached into his pocket and opened up his hand, palm facing towards the ceiling, to reveal the demon ring.

"I'm proud of your squad, you know. You guys have done excellent so far. I hope you understand that you have done a big thing, the demon ring can cause some trouble. I'll take it to safe keeping." He said as he made it float right into his own palm. "You must be Reagan." He said as he looked at me. "If you need anything you're always welcome here."

"Thanks. I'm sorry, what's your name?" I answered back.

"You can call me Mr. Black. I'm sorry but I have to go bring this back to its rightful place. Have a good time the rest of your stay kids. And please make sure Ms. Dalton is okay, that's a pretty nasty scratch." At this point the blood was going through the sleeve.

I transported us back to the apartment and laid myself down as Dotty and Derek made a makeshift bandage. I dozed off and when I woke up someone with dark blue eyes and lightly tanned skin was beside me with his hand on my forehead.

"Is it that you like getting hurt or do you like seeing me?" It was Scott.

"A little of both. That bad huh?" I said.

"Yeah, you passed out. Probably from loss of blood, so someone teleported me over here. Some Matt kid came looking for you the other day."

"Why?"

"He told me to tell you not to forget about the dance. I don't think that's what he wanted to talk about though."

"It wasn't."

"What?"

"Never mind, Scott honestly you didn't have to come here and cure me that's what ambulances and medics are for."

"Ambulances and medics ask for parents to come pick you up."

"Where's everyone else?"

"I think upstairs. Why?"

"Just making sure that all this isn't a dream."

The rest of the New York stay went by really quickly. So did the rest of the week. Before I knew it was Friday and I was getting ready for the dance. I straightened my wavy hair, did a smokey eye, and wore a one should metallic bandage dress. "Dot, lets get going!"

"How do I look?" She asked me as she turned around. She was wearing a blue strapless dress with a feather skirt.

"Gorgeous, let's go!" We went over to the dance and it was already packed. Everyone was dancing. I joined my friends on the dance floor and danced through a couple of songs.

"You look great!" Derek screamed over the music.

"Thank you!" I said back

"What?" He screamed.

"I said thank you!" Just then I felt someone tapping my shoulder. It was Matt. Our plan was about to start off. "Hey!"

"Hi! Come on lets go dance!" He grabbed my hand and pulled me away. As he pulled me away I waved to Derek so that he knew not to worry. "You ready?"

"Now or never." Minutes later we were outside and then I transported us into the lab basement. "Do you remember where we left off?"

"Right around here, I think." He walked over to the center of the wall of file drawers and began looking. I went on the next wall to see if I could speed things up. After a while of searching, I finally found something worth looking at.

"Matt! Get over here I found something!" Right in my hands was not just my mom's file, but Matt's dad's file and my hands couldn't stop shaking.
