It bothered me that Ace wouldn’t tell me, but at the same time if he didn’t say anything then it couldn’t have been that important right? I almost got up to go and run after him but I came behind the building to relax. Last night was, well it was something. I feel like the world just keeps dropping crap on my shoulders to hold. Just then my phone rang.

“Hey where are you?” It was Dotty.

                “Behind the mathematics building.”

                “I’m coming.”

“Ehr, well” But she hung up before I could beg her to let me have some alone time. She and Henderson showed up within a couple of minutes, and I was actually happy for that. Hopefully he would take my apology for running off last night. Technically teleporting off, but let’s not get technical. Both of them sat on either side of me.

“How you holding up?” Dotty asked.

“As best as I can, I guess. I mean I guess its better I know the truth. I would have gone running to her the second I stepped back in New York City. And to be honest I would have told her everything.” I turned to Henderson and said, “Sorry I left you last night, I know you were just trying to be nice.”

“I would have probably done the same.”

I loved that about Henderson. He was so easy going and calm. If I was into being in a relationship, then I totally would have gone for him. But I’d fallen for so many guys before and none of them ever liked me, so after a while I just kind of stopped falling for people, even the ones that I could really like. I don’t really get feelings for guys to save myself from the hurt, and something about Henderson told me that he was only being friendly with me. He probably acted like that with a lot of girls, and not on purpose of course. He was just a really nice guy. Of course I couldn’t tell this to Dotty, because she was so pro Henderson.

“So, it’s a Friday night. What do people around here usually do?” I needed anything that could take my mind off of this week’s events.

“Hmm, well there’s actually a dance tonight, there’s a movie playing in the theatre, and oh my gosh, I just had the best idea ever! What time is it?” Dotty’s mouth broke out into the biggest smile I have ever seen.

“Um, it’s only like 12:30. Why?”

“Henderson, come here!” She walked over a couple feet away to where I couldn’t hear them. She whispered in his ear and told him her plan. I assumed that he liked the idea too because he looked over at my sad self and then smiled back at Dotty. They walked back together towards me. “Okay, so I really hope you like giving people makeovers.”

                “Actually, I do. Why?”

“While Henderson takes care of the rest of my plan, we are going to give Derek a makeover so he’s ready for tonight.” She was typing away on her phone; I guessed she was texting Derek so we could meet up.

She grabbed my hand and pulled me up. It was actually quite funny, and I began to giggle. “Where are we going?”

“To meet up with our project. Bye Henderson! Remember this has to be perfect for her!” He gave her thumbs up and as she dragged me across the field, I turned around and waved goodbye.
