I pressed the button to go up to the twenty first floor and then looked for my room. It took me about ten minutes but eventually I found it. I took my ID and swiped it so that I could be let in the room. When I walked in I saw what looked like a living room. In said living room there was also a girl who looked to be my age. “Hi.”
“Hey, you must be my new roommate.” The girl had light brown hair and brown eyes to match. I was kind of happy to see she was more of a calm cool girl rather than a high pitched blonde.
“Don’t take this as an offense but I had no idea I had a roommate.”
“It’s okay, they only told me this morning. I don’t really mind though anything’s better than my last roommate.”
“What was wrong with her?”
“She loved playing pranks all the time. It was funny at first but after a while I just wanted her to trick someone else. Oh God, please tell me you’re not like that too. I cannot take one more whoopee cushion.”
“Don’t worry; I’m funny, not juvenile.”
“Hah! I like you! Would you like the grand tour?” she waved her hands in a grand motion as if we were in a mansion and not a dorm room.
“Without it I’d get lost.” I said sarcastically.
“This is the living room. It lacks a TV but we have one in the lobby on the first floor. I just put some mini couches and a small table in case I ever want to have a study group or something.” she turned to the right and said, “That’s the door to my room.” The door was open and her room looked pretty good for not being able to paint the walls. Her whole room theme was orange and turquoise. Her bed was filled with orange and small blue pillows and everything else like lamps and rugs were turquoise.
“I like the colors. It works well.”
“Thanks.” She turned to the left side of the living room and pointed to the other side of the room. “And that is your room. The set up and size is the same except you have a killer window. You have a good view of everyone leaving the building and going to class. And by everyone I mean the cute guys.”
“You’ll have to point those out to me.” I said while laughing.
“And last but not least on the last wall is the bathroom. We share it, which is fine with me considering the guys have to share a bathroom with the whole floor.”
“Sucks for them. Hey, did you know that people in this place are bad at introducing themselves? Only one person has given me their name without asking and I kind of wish they hadn’t.” I was trying to hint at the fact that once again I had been approached without knowing who the person was.
“Oh! Wow. Sorry, I’m Dotty Bullard. Before you ask, no I have no idea what it means, my parents just liked the sound of it.”
“Reagan Dalton. So what’s your power?”
“I’m what they call a water craft. I can show you if you want.”
“Really?”
“Yep. I just need water. I could use the water in the air and the things around us but that would dry up the room and our skin and I don’t think you need to see that.”
