Henderson gave the sign to Olivia, Derek, and Dotty and the five of us were off. Just like we planned we went straight for the guy holding the ring. These SAA's definitely weren't planning on going down easily. As soon as we got the slightest bit close to who I guessed was the leader, considering he had the ring, one of the others tried to blast us with fire.
"Duck!" Henderson yelled. If it hadn't been for his telepathy, we'd be burnt to a crisp.
I didn't waste time. I pulled the anger out from inside of me and focused it out on the four others while the rest of the team took care of the guy with the ring. The rest of the SAAs went down like pins in a bowling alley. But it didn't matter because they rose up again. This time I threw them against trees. Maybe the impact would hold them off.
"Reagan, you okay?" Derek replied. Although behind me it was four against one, you could hear that the leader was fighting back with everything he had.
"Uh, yeah!" I yelled back as I released another huge force of energy. Wow, they weren't kidding when they said this wouldn't be easy.
"You're a bad liar!" Derek yelled back. "Y'sure you don't need help?"
"Focus! I've got this!" I thought about a way to stall these people. When I wasn't looking one of the girls from their group hit me with a spear of ice. "Ow. Did that come from your cold heart?" I said adding in a little joke. She shot at me again. "That's a rhetorical question, obviously it did." The only thing I could think of doing was trapping them somewhere power proof. And the only way I could think of doing that was a spell. Except, I've never even learned about spells or how to recite them. So I did the only thing that was left to try. I made my own one up. "Take your powers, and store them away. Trap you in a box where you will stay. Release the ring and erase your minds, and let you go a quarter past nine!"
"Ha, ha, ha." The girl said as she did a slow clap. "We're still here. And oh, look! I still have my memory."
I may not know a lot about spells but right then I did remember the one thing I had learned about them. They had to be said in Latin. For the first time, I used my knowledge power. It was crazy because as I translated it in my head I could see it being written out in the air. "Sumite vires, et congregabo eos. Ubi mansit arca in caperent. Dimittere anulum etdelens animos, et vos quartam praeteritum novem!" Just then the ground began to shake. If I had experienced an earthquake before, this would probably be what it felt like. I ducked and held myself on the ground. When the shaking stopped and I looked up there were five SAA members looking confused as ever. One of them began to walk forward and after walking more than a yard she couldn't move forward. She was repelled back by a force field. "Ha,ha,ha is right. Guys, the ring?"
"Right here." Henderson said as he threw it in the air and caught it again.
"That, that was amazing." Dotty said as she high fived me.
"Thank you, thank you. Um, I feel really light headed." I put my hand on my forehead and felt blood.
"We should put some pressure on that." Henderson said as he ripped his sleeve and wrapped it around my head and the cut.
"To headquarters?" I said still feeling very successful.
"To headquarters." Henderson replied.
