Guess who's back! I am so sorry that I haven't posted since the beggining of January but here's my explanation as to what happened. My world history teacher assigns a big essay for every marking period. It counts as our project grade so it's two test grades and on the first one (my first high school essay with citations and research and everything) I got a 77. So i wanted to be super focused and devoted a lot of work into this essay. (I got a 99 on the second marking period one!) so then my grandma came to visit and after that we returned to school, and I had to crack down for midterms. Midterms were the last couple days of January and the first week of February. ( if you guys care I got: English- 91 World history-92 Algebra 1- 100 Biology- 86 Spanish- 95) By the time I had time to write more, I didn't know how to get back into it. Also the fact that no one new had commented (although want to thank those who are old readers too and keep commenting<3) didn't motivate me. And then my brother got hurt and had surgery and cannot walk for 6 weeks, so I've been helping taking care of him and helping with his tutoring. But now I'm back and want to write. It's not that good but I'm trying to get back into things!

You’d think that a loft full of teens would get extremely crazy but when it came to us, we were pretty chill. All I can remember is ordering take out with the team and then passing out from a food coma. When I woke up all of us were sprawled on the floor in my room sleeping. The clock said 3:05am. I carefully made my way out of the room, attempting not to step on anyone and wake them up. I somehow made it to the hallway without stepping on anyone’s face or making a loud enough noise to startle everyone. I hadn’t noticed the direction I was walking in until I bumped into the door. More specifically my mom’s old bedroom door. It was still in the same exact condition it had been that morning she left. The bed looked as if someone had just hopped out and forgot to make it. The makeup was still on her vanity and her clothes were still jumbled up from when I took some clothes before I left for the Institute.

I slowly backed away from the closet and accidently hit the headboard of the bed. “Oww.” I quietly hissed remembering that everyone was still asleep. Looking back at the headboard I noticed that the knob I hit had broken off of the bed and had fallen on the floor. “No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no!” Tears rushed to my eyes and down my cheeks. I quickly grabbed the knob from the floor so that I could try to attach it back on to the headboard, but when I got up I noticed that the inside of where the knob had been was hollow. Inside there was a glowing crystal attached to a necklace chain. I wiped the tears off of my check and took the crystal out. Just then I heard footsteps coming down the hall. I stuffed it in my pocket just in time for when Henderson showed up at the doorway.

“Woah, hey why are you crying?” he said looking worried.

“I just hit the headboard on my way out. Haha, silly me always bumping into things all the time.”

“Are you sure you’re okay?” I knew he wouldn’t buy it, but I wasn’t completely lying. It was his telepathy.

“I’m fine. What are you doing up?” Changing the subject was my only way out.

“I could say the same to you.”

“I’m a night owl, what’s your excuse?” I asked as I walked out of the room and shut the door.

“I heard something fall and then noticed you weren’t in the room. Does someone else live here?”

                “Not anymore.”

“Oh wow, I’m sorry Reagan, I forgot. I didn’t realize. Um wow.” He awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck and you could tell the boy never felt worse about something he said.

“Henderson, its okay you didn’t mean to. You better get back to bed.”

“What’s the point, I’m already up.”

“Henderson, I don’t need to have powers to know something’s up.”

                “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Then go back to bed. I’ll be downstairs.”

I began walking down the spiral stairs when I heard, “I don’t like you hanging out with Matt.”

                “I’m sorry, what?”

                “He’s bad news.”

                “In what way?”

“I can just feel it Reagan and I don’t think you should be hanging around him, especially not alone.”

“Henderson it’s sweet that you care and all, but Matt is a good guy.”

“How would you know, you’ve known him for what a week?”

“And I’ve only known you for three. And I did know Nat for years but we saw how that turned out. Time has nothing to do with the measure of what type of person you are.”

“I’m just trying to look out for you Rey.” He had these pleading puppy dog eyes. I knew he meant well, but still, he’s pressing the subject on Matt one too many times. “I know you can tell that I like you a lot, but you don’t do anything about it. You flirt with me, kiss Parker, and now Matt? Do you plan on sticking with someone anytime soon?” The last sentence hung in the air. It took Henderson a while to realize what he had said, but he had said it and the words stung. “Oh, wow. I didn’t mean it like that, I’m sorry. I just, I want to know if I’m trying to accomplish the impossible.”

Before speaking I wipe the tears from my eyes. “I don’t know what I want to do but I know what I don’t want to do, and that’s date. Parker is a jerk who’d just hurt me, I just met Matt, and chances are, you’re leaving next year. I’ve lost one too many people this year, and I can’t go through that in any shape or form again.”

“So you’re just not going to try?”

“I-I’m too scar” and then just as the sun began to rise, Henderson’s phone rang, and I didn’t have to ask what was going on.
