Chapter 18

“You think they'll let us off the hook?” Ali rubbed her palms together to ease her nervousness.

“I believe the feelings they have for you is above this.” But what about me? I'm just their little sis they can scold and punish.

Knock Knock

“You can come in.” Linda answered hugging a plushie.

“Ali, Lia, Linda…” Nanny Vanessa paused when she saw us. “I thought I told you girls to freshen up?” I could see the steam emitting from her ears. “Before I close my eyes and open it, you should flee to the bathroom now!” She added raising her finger in a warning gesture.

“The same bath…” I was cut short by nanny Vanessa.

“1…2…3 after I count zero and you're still here, things will get ugly.” She warned.

We didn’t need to be told twice before we fled to our various rooms.

I think I took long in the bathroom, I took a shower first before I soaked in the bathtub for more than 20 minutes to relax my muscles. I came out seeing the girls on my bed. “So fast?” I asked still drying my hair with the towel.

“Yeah, we didn't soak.” Lia rolled on her back typing on her phone. “Let me guess, you did?” She paused looking at me.

“Yup, I really needed too.” I went to my walk-in closet and took thick clothing to wear before coming out, the winter is picking up.

“We planned to dip in our Jacuzzi after dinner, you in?” She asked.

“Yeah.” I changed in front of them. We lived in the same room before we got our separate rooms.

“Since you're done let's go down before nanny comes in.” Linda came to where I was and removed my hair band. “It’s not fully dried yet if not you'll catch a cold.” She parted my hair with her hands before we left.

We are at the top of the stairs when we saw Lia's dad sitting with his legs crossed reading a document. “UNCLE! DAD!” We shouted in excitement running down the stairs.

“No running girls.” Mr. Gomez reminded keeping his work aside, but of course we didn't listen. When we came down from the last step he stood up and we increased our pace till we got to him enveloping him in a bear hug. “My girls.” He tightened his hold by not tight enough to prevent us from breathing.

“Now they saw their favorite and forgot all about me.” Mrs. Gomez came from the direction of the dinning hall pretending to be jealous. We went to embrace her.

“How come you're home early?” Linda voiced out sitting on the right side of Mr. Gomez and me on the left while Ali and Lia sat with Aunty.

“We heard our unfilial daughters are back.” Uncle paused looking at us. “And the trouble you caused.”

I tried fleeing from there but Uncle caught me, he wrapped his hands around our shoulders bringing us back so we don't escape. I looked at the girl’s and they were in the same position. Trapped.

“We’re listening.” Uncle demanded wiping every smile from his face.

We dived in telling them what happened today at school and how we got the boys card key we used to gain access to some places in school. They asked more on why Blanca would do such a thing and I told them the warning she gave me at the charity event and they probed us some more and eventually they got to know about the whole story of what Travis did and how Gio saved me and punched him till he blacked out.

“Does it hurt.” Uncle examined Linda's injury, it's on her lower thigh near her knee cap. Aunty did the same.

“Before you sleep apply the ointment I’ll give you after dinner, so it doesn't leave a mark behind when it's completely healed.” Aunty hugged her patting her hair before she examined me. “Where did you get hurt dear?” She made me stand up turning my around to examine further, I was in a top and shorts.

“I’m fine Aunty.” I assured her, she searched my eyes for a hint of lie. “I’m really fine.”

“We’ll take you to the hospital after you return from school the following day for full body check up.” She went back to her sit leaving no room for arguments. “Why weren’t we informed? What about your security team? Where were they?”

“I stopped them from telling any of you.” I replied taking my sit.

“And why would you do that?” Uncle's voice came out harsh. “The boys, they don't know about this?” He looked at me giving me a stern look.

“No, they don't.” 'The boys' this time means our senior brother’s, Alicia's two brothers and my brother. Ardalia is an only child and Belinda as a little sister her parents dotes on so much and one thing I’m sure of is, our parents don't know about our developments.

“I won't help you in on this and I won't tell them too.” He patted my hair side hugging me. “That would be your punishment.” He kissed our foreheads before climbing up the stairs.

“I agree with your dad on this one Lucky and bring the boys over for dinner tomorrow so we get to know our daughters boyfriends.” She followed Uncle’s lead. Anytime they are referring to the other they use mom and dad.

“Now march to the dinning hall before I pour my anger you girls.” Nanny Vanessa said making us snap our heads in her direction.

“How long have you been there?” I asked not wanting another scolding.

“Long enough to know the trouble you girls got yourselves into…” She paused coming around to embrace us. “And you should be careful from now on. Now, go eat it's past dinner time.”

“What of mom and dad?” Lia stopped facing her.

“Since they came home early dear, I’m guessing they should be in their office. So, don't worry I’ll send dinner to them.” She motioned us to go.

Once they’re in their office at home they hardly step out unless it has to do with our safety or some important meeting, and if we wanted something they'll give us one of their Bank cards and ask what we bought later, so we don't have what we aren't supposed too.
