Flora and Alice bid goodbye to the Fortescue's and boarded the Hogwarts Express.
Flora was excited to meet her friends once again. Lily had already come to say hello to them and then left for head girl duties. The two girls met Evanna and Marlene in their compartment. Mathias was already there with Evanna. The other marauders soon joined them minus James Potter, who had much to Flora's surprise, become the Head Boy. Flora soon showed the other her Quidditch Captain badge. Everyone was glad since she was one of the best players in the team. They soon got into deep conversation about Quidditch and their seventh year.
The door of the compartment slid open and there stood, in all his glory, James Potter. More handsome than ever, in Flora's opinion. He gave her a dazzling smile and she, like any other normal teenager, blushed. All of this didn't go unnoticed by their friends who, by this time, were tired of James and Flora flirting with each other. They should get together already.
James came inside and intentionally sat just opposite to Flora even though the seat near the door was completely empty.
"I heard you are the new Quidditch Captain." James said with a smile.
"And you are the Head Boy." She exclaimed.
"Always the tone of surprise. You might have to accept the fact that I am finally maturing now."
"That's a terrible attempt at flirting." Sirius coughed. James slapped the back of his head and the friends had a wonderful time, the rest of the train ride.
Seventh year, as they had expected, was extremely tough from the beginning. They were covering double the potions and got homework for all subjects everyday. Flora was drowning in all the school work but still managed to take some time out for Quidditch selections.
Flora had come up with a whole three step plan for selections and by the end of the day, everybody was exhausted but at least Flora was confident about the new team. After many hours of diligent decision she had decided to retain James Potter and Sirius Black as the other Chasers and Mathias Dumbledore as the seeker. She had chosen two third years as beaters and a fifth year as a keeper who was not particularly as good as Frank. She felt upset then that Frank had graduated last year.
After selections, James accompanied her to the great hall for dinner. The both of them sat together and were engrossed so deeply in their conversation that they didn't notice Remus and Sirius mimicking their love eye faces and making fun of them.
The days were spent attending classes, completing homework, doing extra readings as well as Quidditch practices. Meanwhile, James and Flora's friendship grew deeper and deeper.
James had fallen in love with Flora, that much was clear to everybody but he knew he would mess things up if he rushed a relationship with Flora and so he decided to wait. He could not bear to go a day without talking to or at least looking at Flora. He went to sleep dreaming about Flora and woke up to the thought of Flora. He sought her everywhere he went. He had finally found his soulmate.
Flora had, after much thought, realised that she loved James Potter. Oftentimes she found herself looking for James everywhere she went. The marauders had, much to her displeasure, started teasing her about him. They had already started planning their wedding and calling her James' soulmate. She agreed with that bit. James was her soulmate.
