Days went by and soon the first match was upon them. The much awaited Gryffindor vs Slytherin. The days leading to the match, Flora had driven everybody mad by her relentless practice sessions. Mathias and Sirius had even begged James to take Flora on a date so they could all relax for a day. James rolled his eyes in response.

He was tired by all the practice too but he was proud of Flora. He knew what Quidditch meant to her and he knew she wanted to play professionally when she graduated. When Flora had decided to join the team in her third year, everybody had made fun of her. How could a muggleborn play Quidditch well or even make it to the team. She had proved everybody wrong by playing excellently and often scoring many points single handed. James was glad that she made the captain in their seventh year. He saw the glow Flora had whenever she talked about Quidditch.

The team had a hearty breakfast as was requested by Flora. She didn't let anyone leave without at least a single slice of bread and some fruits. She gave her pep talk which was mostly appreciating and encouraging others.

The captains shook hands and soon the game began. The new strategy opted by Flora proved to be fruitful as the Gryffindor team succeeded in avoiding the bludgers thrown with double the aggression by the Slytherin beaters. The game soon ended with Mathias catching the snitch and Gryffindor winning the game. Professor Mcgonagall was in tears. She was glad she chose Flora as the new captain.

The Gryffindor common room was full of all the students celebrating the win. The noise became so loud that at around ten Professor Mcgonagall came to the common room to chastise Lily and James, the Head Girl and Head Boy. All the students had to sadly stop after that.

Flora went to bed satisfied and happy that they had won the match. Her first match too. Against the Slytherins. She couldn't believe it.

Edward Rosier left the match in between. He could not see it anymore. He had noticed the blossoming relationship between Flora and James and that devastated him. He usually avoided Flora or any of her friends, even Lily, who still hung out with Snape a few times. Every time he saw or even thought of Flora, he was transported back to the time when everything was normal. When life wasn't so full of despair. He had Flora in his life, not his father and brothers nagging him to join the death eaters. His life had taken an unpleasant turn and he wasn't ready to face any of it.

Flora was going back to the Fortescue's for Christmas holidays. Although James had invited all of them to his house for a Christmas party his family was hosting. They all accepted.

The holidays soon came and Flora was off with Alice to the house of Fortescue's.
