Can a God, truly be redeemed?

Chapter 32

It took the team no time at all to cover the few miles to the hideout entrance. Steve was a little perturbed that they didn't find it immediately upon arrival. As Loki and Tony stated there was a large open field around the entry point. The team gathered just inside the tree line outside of the open field, with Loki using his magic to conceal their presence for now.

"So what's the plan Cap? I'm registering 20 maybe 30 heat signatures inside. Not accounting for ones we can't reach depending on how deep this thing goes." Tony asks, as he scans in the area through his head piece.

"We create a distraction, Man of Iron. I could go out there and start yelling at the entryway, maybe throw a lightning bolt at it?" Thor ever ready for a chance to swing his hammer. All brawn in his strategy, with little game plan.

"No, you oaf! No lightning, and no direct attacks to the mountain side itself. We don't want to cause a rock slide, or avalanche! We need to draw them out and into the field here. Although striking bolts into the field might do it. Bombs would be too explosive and unpredictable. If you place your strikes in specific areas it should be a more controlled disbursement of the energy and not cause too much effect to the surrounding area." Loki ran over the plan of attack weighing the pros and cons.

"What if we use Clint's arrows for that too? Nat doesn't he have some small bomb ones he can aim in just the right spots? Where the hell did he go anyway?" Tony turns to Natasha as he glances around.

"He's right where he is supposed to be Stark. Our eyes in the skies. Don't worry, you'll know he's here." Nat replies winking at Tony. Clint's talent often went unnoticed by others, until they saw the arrow that saved them from an enemy attack. His skills are never a doubt for her though. After all, the best shot he ever took was the one he didn't, he told her.

"What would you like from Vision and I? Once they spill out I can enter their minds and release Sylvies hold" Wanda was ready to work her magic, knowing Vision would cover her while she broke through the Hydra soldiers minds.

"Yes, Wanda, that's exactly what I was thinking. I know they will come at us, enchantment or not, but they deserve to have their own minds back. I've never agreed with people using others as their puppets, good or bad intentions does not matter. Ok so this is what we are doing, Nat radio Clint to drop some well placed explosive arrows. Thor pick your spots wisely! Once we can filter them out, Wanda can engage them. We fight them off as they come, don't make them push back. Loki once that opening is cleared, you can move in to search for her with Bucky. Tony, you can follow after we are sure we have the advantage on the field. Myself, Nat, Thor, Wanda and Vision will keep the field handled, as well as with Clint up top. Let's bring Y/N home, let's all make it home. We do have an asgardian/mortal wedding to attend" Steve smiles, watching his team all nod in understanding, hoping to give everyone a small ray of hope with something jovial to look forward to.

Nat radios Clint in Steve's instructions, and not 5 seconds after, the team sees 4 well distanced arrows blinking into the ground. Everyone braces for the explosions, as Thor begins lifting Mjollnir towards the sky.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!!!

ZAP! ZAP! ZAP! ZAP!

The team stand back as the power of Thor's lightning temporarily blinds them. As if on cue, the Hydra soldiers begin pouring out of the mountainside hatch ready to investigate the sounds. Everyone takes their positions and moves onto the field ready to engage. Steve swings his shield at the enemy advancing as he sees all of their eyes beginning to glow red with Wanda's influence. All of the soldiers pause mid movement as you see Wanda take control working to break their mental holds. Loki quickly makes his way towards the opening, cloaking himself with invisibility so he may move freely in search for his love.
