Can a God, truly be redeemed?

Chapter 37

You can hear Loki whispering in your ear, as you wake up still strapped into your seat on the Quinjet.

"Wake up, darling. We are home" he whispers into your ear, as he kisses your head.

"Mmmm....home?" you groan out as you fight to open your eyes, and stretch out your sore neck.

"Yes, my sweet. Home. Let's get off this jet, the S.H.I.E.L.D medical team will want to clear you themselves, and then we can go home." he laughs at you.

"Sounds fabulous. No interview needed huh?" you ask, doubtful that they didn't want a full account of the events after your abduction.

"Oh they do, but I told them it can wait till you have fully recovered from your ordeal first. Especially since there is no longer any threat." Loki answered.

"Please do not speak of Sylvie that way, Loki. Just don't. She was misguided but didn't deserve the ending she had. Her death is on me." Your eyes begin to tear as you can still see her lifeless body laying in your lap, you never wanted someone's death on your shoulders and yet here you were.

You knew she was protecting you and you shouldn't make light of her sacrifice but it will always sit heavily on you.

"Darling, it would have been myself had I thought quicker in the moment. All that matters is that you are safe and sound. She saved not only you, but our child within you as well, my love. I wanted to cause her great suffering for taking you from me, and now I could never thank her enough for saving you and our child. If this is on anyone, it is me. It should've been me covering your body with mine, not hers. I know this situation is not something you were ever prepared for and Bruce has mentioned to me about advising you to seek therapy with their SHIELD psychologist. That will be completely up to you, darling, but I do think you should. I can attend with you, if you would like." Loki moves up as the jet lands on top of the Avengers compound and begins undoing your seat harness.

"Yeah, I think that's not a bad idea. I would like it if you came with me though. We can work through it together, like we shall everything else. Right now, I'd like to be checked out and cleared so we can go home. I'm aching to shower with you right now" you stand up and wrap your arms around his waist in a quick hug.

Loki quickly wraps his arms around you tight and hugs you back, tilting his head down to breathe in your calming scent.

"Sounds like an excellent plan, love. I shall also order us some take out, as it's been too long since you've last eaten and you must keep up your strength for our little one." he smiles as he moves to rub his hand lightly over your belly.

As if on cue your tummy growls loudly at the mention of food.

"Ha! Yea I think that sounds wonderful. As long as I can have you for dessert" you wink at him.

"Oh my naughty kitten. I do believe it is I who shall have you" he laughs as he guides you out behind everyone to exit the jet, slapping your behind lightly as you go, making you squeal a little and let out a laugh.

"Really?! Can you not wait till we have left the room!" Tony chides as he shakes his head, exiting behind you both.

"Oh, leave them be Stark. They've been separated a long time, and are engaged as well as pregnant. Not much more trouble they can get into." Natasha chastises Tony, lightly pushing his shoulder from behind him.

Everyone gives light laughs as they all exit the jet, and make their way into the building. A medical team on standby greets you at the opening doors, and escorts you and Loki both down to the medical wing to be seen. Once you both are cleared, and you make sure they note down your pregnancy even though their systems can't confirm it just yet. Neither you nor Loki doubt the Queen's assurance of her healing power or registering the life inside of you.
