Can a God, truly be redeemed?

Chapter 34

Loki charges at Sylvie, as she stands at the ready to defend herself. Seeing her sword in hand Loki quickly merges his daggers together, making a long sword for himself. The clash of metal rings in the once calm field as they begin swinging and dodging each other's blows. Once Loki had Sylvie fully engaged, Steve and Bucky slowly made their ways towards your unmoving form across the field.

"Stop!!! Both of you please!!!! You don't have to fight!!!! Loki, please!!! Sylvie, stop!!!" you shout over and over as tears pour down your face, frozen in fear at the scene before you.

Terror grips you as you watch near run throughs delivered by each of them. Loki dodging quickly her cut throughs, and Sylvie twisting away just in the knick of time to avoid Loki's jab. The timber of Loki's growl and roar as he swings and moves swiftly like a panther who has done this deadly dance for many centuries. The high pitch of Sylvie's screams as she perrys and dodges around the field like a lioness ready to fight to the death. Both smooth and limber like cats but quick as snakes ready to bite and poison their enemy.

"How dare you come here, and take my beloved from me! Just because you killed yours in your blind jealousy and pain doesn't give you the right to destroy all the others!" Loki yells as he swings and finally lands a slice across Sylvie's arm. She screams in rage as the burning sears her arm.

"I'm doing what must be done you ignorant fool! Besides, she isn't like the rest of them! You are unworthy of her! I can feel and see her kindness, her love, her light! No Loki is worthy of that! We live and breathe darkness, destined only for pain and betrayal. We will always be the villain in the end!" Sylvie screams back panting in her quickening exhaustion, wincing at the slice on her arm. She swings down and returns her cut in kind as she knicks Loki's left arm as well.

"STOP!!!! DON'T HURT HIM!!!! LOKI DON'T HURT HER! SHE JUST NEEDS HELP TO SEE THE LIGHT! SYLVIE DON'T HURT HIM PLEASE!!!" you scream helpless to do more than watch, not daring to thrust yourself into the fray that is their battle.

From the corner of your eye you see Steve and Bucky making their way towards you. Steve lays his fingers across his lips signaling you to remain quiet of his presence. You shake your head knowing he wants to take you away. Ordered by Loki no doubt. He and Bucky make their way next to you as they crouch down beside you.

"Y/N, we need to go. We promised Loki we would get you outta here. Let's get you back to base camp and his mother, Queen Frigga can look over you. Are you hurt anywhere?" Steve asks quickly taking an injury assessment of you.

"You gotta come with us, Doll. Let us get you outta here." Bucky nods, moving his arm around your back. You shake your head, refusing to leave either Loki or Sylvie. You knew once you were outta sight is when both would stop holding back their real movements.

"I can't leave, Steve. Once I do, I know it will become a fight to the death, and I won't let either of them die for me!" you cry moving away from him and Bucky refusing to leave.

As quickly as you move back away from Steve and Bucky, they hear rustling behind them, coming in from the forest.

"Shit, Steve, we got hostiles!" Bucky shouts, turning around to face whatever is running up.

"Everyone get over here now, we got people moving in, and I don't think they are friendly!" Steve shouts over the comms, using his body to block you off from sight.

The team quickly moves to assemble near Bucky and Steve, making their way in front of your quivering form. You're still entranced watching Sylvie and Loki dodging each other in their deadly dance.

"Will you both stop!!!" you move up and begin rushing forward, ready to thrust yourself on both of their blades to end this nonsense.

As you begin running at them both, they quickly turn towards you, as they take in the Avengers lining the other side of the field.
