TWO HOURS LATER and they were in front of a very old looking house. It was painted with white and blue but the colors were faded out and the house looked almost like it was in ruins. Bushes and grass had grown over the yard and near the stairs as trees covered bits of the upper half of the house. The windows were all covered with wooden planks and the front door with a huge and thick wooden plank. On the other hand, the house looked very creepy and eerie. Sam could feel goosebumps crawl up her arms and legs just at the sight of it, not to mention how even more creepy it would feel once they go inside.
As they all took a good look at the house, Steve sarcastically commented, "yeah, that's not creepy." The group sighed and made their way towards the door. Steve got the tools that could remove the nails from the corners of the wood so that they could remove the wood and get inside. Nancy was doing the same on the other side as the rest waited and watched. "What exactly are we supposed to be looking for in this shithole?" Asked Steve as he finished up with the nails.
"We're not sure." Nancy replied. "We just know this house is important to Vecna."
"Because Max saw it in Vecna's red soup mind world?" Asked Steve.
"Basically." Replied Nancy.
"Great." Deadpanned Steve.
"Maybe it holds a clue to where Vecna is. Why he's back. Why he killed the Creels." Suggested Dustin, a black backpack on his back and a blue-white cap on his head. "And how to stop him before he comes back for Max or takes Sam, cause ya know, Sam already had her first vision."
"We don't think he's in there, do we?" Slowly asked Lucas.
"Guess we'll find out." Max replied.
"Ready?" Steve asked Nancy, nodding towards the wooden plank.
"Mhmm," replied Nancy and on a count of three, they both let go of the plank at the same time as it slammed onto the ground.
The impact with the ground raised a lot of dust and small pieces of wood to fly up, causing the group to cough and wrinkle their noses, trying to take steps back and avoid the broken pieces of wood that went flying. Once they all shook away the dust, Max stared at the door that was exactly like how she had drawn it and exactly like Nancy had described it.
Sam's eyes froze at the rose.
The rose seemed to look back at Sam.
The grl shuddered and looked away, suddenly feeling uncomfortable and uneasy.
Steve tried the doorknob but of course the door was locked. "It's locked. Should I knock, see if anybody home?"
"No need." Robin said and raised her hand to show a big rock in her hand. Everyone turned to look at her and she shrugged, "I found a key."
With that, she walked in front of the group and threw the fucking rock right at the stained glass onto the door, breaking it immediately. The noise was loud enough that it echoed even inside the house as Steve stretched his arm inside and began to feel for the doorknob.
"Nice key," Sam deadpanned, staring at the big chunk of a broken window.
"Thanks." Replied Robin with a smirk.
Steve finally unlocked the door from the inside. Sam looked around the group, her hands crossed over her chest and a small backpack on her back. As Steve opened the door slowly, the door creaked and made a whining noise. Sam slid her backpack down her back, unzipped it and reached for a flashlight. In the bag were also few cassettes with an old cassette player and headphones just in case. If the song had saved Max yesterday, Sam wasn't gonna take any risks. She quickly checked that the snacks and the new fresh bottle of water were still there before zipping the bag and placing it on her back once again.
