THE SMELL of grill filled Sam's nose as she held the big bowl of salad, walking towards the big ass table where she placed the said salad with the rest of the bowls.
"We are missing forks!" Joyce shouted from the other end of the table.
By a big ass table, I mean a table that could fit twenty-one people.
By twenty-one I mean: Sam, Jonathan, Hopper, Joyce, Mike, Max, Murray, Will, Nancy, Robin, Steve, Erica, Lucas, Dustin, Eleven, Argyle, Eddie, Wayne, Vickie, Dimitri and Yuri.
"I'll get them!" Nancy shouted from inside the cabin.
Okay, well. Today was a day where all of them decided to gather together and have dinner. It was planned by Sam's father and Joyce, the two wanting everyone that had gone through all the Upside Down crap to enjoy a day of relaxation. Sam doesn't exactly know why did the two even invite Yuri. That man was weird as fuck and constantly said some stupid ass jokes. Even dirty ones that Sam had to cover Eleven's ears.
The table was really long and it was basically four big tables put together. There was a plate for everyone and on each table there were two bowls of salads that Jonathan, Sam and Vickie made an hour before everyone else arrived.
Vickie had became part of the group and even though she didn't know about the Upside Down, she was welcomed warmly by the group. She and Robin started to date few days ago and Sam and Steve kept giggling whenever they saw the two, loving how Robin was finally happy and blushing. They were, of course, teasing her a lot too.
The grill was being made by Sam's father, Murray, Dimitri and Wayne. All of them having a nice chat.
The party, aka, the kids, were all seated on one end of the table, chatting their boredom away. Max was in a wheelchair next to Lucas and Eleven, smiling brightly and laughing at something stupid Mike had said. Jonathan, Argyle and Nancy were assigned for the drinks so they were pouring them in cups for everyone, the two asking what everyone wanted before doing so. Okay well, Argyle was kind of high already but he did made himself useful. He had brought pizzas that he, himself, made. Eddie, Sam and Steve were getting the last side dishes on the table while Robin and Vickie were helping Joyce finish up the decorations and checking if they have everything.
Yuri was just sitting near the other end, talking over the loud laughter with Dimitri, Hopper and Murray. Some jokes that Sam barely understood.
"Does anyone want a beer?" Jonathan asked, turning to look at the adults.
"I could use some," Joyce replied.
"Same here," Dimirti said in his thick Russian accent, pointing at Murray, Hopper and Wayne.
"We can have some, too." Steve said, nodding towards Eddie and Sam as the two nodded back.
"I want some!" Eleven said.
"Nope," Sam said, shaking her head. "You are still a baby."
Eleven huffed.
Quite honestly, Eleven still didn't exactly know what alcohol was or what it even does.
It was cute though.
"I've drank alcohol," Max said with a shrug. "Doesn't taste that interesting."
"Of course you have." Steve sighed, shaking his head like a tired mother.
"I wouldn't really drink alcohol," Erica smoothly said. "Unless I need it for survival. Alcohol is liquid just like water."
"Remember the time you almost drank poison because you said it was liquid?" Robin reminded her.
