THE NEXT DAY Sam was woken up by the radio static going insane and an annoying Eddie calling out their names.
Last night, after Nancy and Robin returned, they told them about how Victor had been living in his house with his family and how his daughter loved the new house but his son was a little shy and introverted. They told them about how Victor had watched his wife die and when Vecna came to get him, he heard a sound which was the song 'dream a little dream of me' and he managed to find a way out. By the time he returned, his daughter was killed too and his son lied unconscious on the ground which he seemed to have fallen into a coma and died later on. Victor was arrested for murder and he tried to take his own life but the people in the asylum had stopped him and didn't let him. Robin explained that Victor had white eyes and they were creepy since he had tried to take his eyes out just like Vecna had done to his family.
Then Robin and Nancy explained that the director had told them that music helps relax stressed minds and somewhat brings comfort so they usually play music for the people in the asylum. Robin also told them that the director caught up on the fact that she and Nancy were lying about their identity so they had to run away and drive to safety.
Then the group told them about Max and Max tried to explain the place where she was in her vision. She told them as much as she could and every detail she could think of but then she couldn't get the words out of her lips anymore and gave up. It took Max at least thirty minutes to calm down and relax for a bit after her vision and the group collectively sat through it all, helping her do breathing exercises and trying to calm her down. They also told the two girls about Sam's first vision and how it was. Later on, after they finished talking, the group decided to sleep a bit and then they put Dustin in charge to look out for Max.
"Hey, Dustin, this is Eddie The Banished," the radio was saying. "You there? Dustin, can you hear me?"
Sam groaned and rolled on the ground where she had fallen asleep. She was extremely tired the night after Max was saved and with the tiny hope of knowing that maybe Sam could be saved too, she managed to fall asleep. Now though, Eddie's voice kept ringing in her ears and as much as she was half asleep, she tried to wake herself up and observe her surroundings.
"Dustin? Earth to Dustin?" Eddie was saying, dragging out his voice.
Nancy jumped awake faster than Sam and rushed to the radio. Sam yawned and stretched her arms, watching with sleepy eyes as Nancy picked up the radio and pulled the antenna out.
"Hey, it's Nancy." Nancy said.
"Wheeler! Hey!" Shouted Eddie from the other end. "Um, I'm gonna need a food delivery, like, really soon, unless you want me going out into the world."
"No. No, no, don't do that." Nancy sleepily replied, shaking her head. "Just stay where you are, and we'll be there as soon as we can."
Sam took a look around the room. Steve and Lucas were sleeping on the couch together, Robin was sleeping near the sofa with her head resting on the said sofa and her body on the ground. Lastly Dustin- fuck. Dustin was asleep.
Wait, wasn't it his turn to look over Max? Sam thought panicky. Her eyes widening as she looked over to where Max was supposed to be only to find the fucking couch empty.
Fuck, cursed Sam.
"Yeah, yeah, listen." Eddie said. "Ummm... Can you pick me up a six-pack? I know it's stupid as shit, drinking right now, but uhhhh, but a cold bear would really calm my jangled nerves."
"Nancy, Max's not here." Sam said fast, getting up on her feet and rushing towards Dustin.
"Hey, I'm gonna have to call you back!" Nancy said in a rush and turned off the radio with Eddie's confused noises in the back as they dulled out since the antenna was shut down.
