The crowd's cheers for you echoed in your head as you made your way to your waiting room. You smiled to yourself, content with your victory. You weren't going to lie, you were worried a bit back there. You knew nothing about Dark Shadow. If you hadn't found out his weakness, you might've lost the battle. And in the real world, as a hero, you'd constantly be facing villains whose quirks you knew nothing about. There was definitely so much you needed to work on.
You then made it to your waiting room and entered. You closed the door behind you and took off the jacket of your sports uniform. Although it wasn't dripping, it was still really damp from when you splashed into your water wall during your last fight. You wrung it out to make it as dry as possible. As soon as you finished getting water out of the jacket, you draped it over the chair to dry completely. You'd usually use your quirk to pull out the water as fast as possible, but you didn't want to wear yourself out too much. Your next opponent would be either Kirishima or Katsuki and the two of them would be incredibly hard to beat.
Speaking of Katsuki, the door busted open and you snapped your head to see him barging into your room. He hesitated for a moment just looking at you. You couldn't tell, but his eyes scanned your body. You still had small droplets of water on your biceps and your tank top clung to your body, emphasizing its shape.
"H-hey what are you doing in my-" He growled before checking, "Oh shit, this is waiting room two?"
You chuckled and crossed your arms, "Nice to see you too Katsuki. Is this part of your plan to indirectly congratulate me on my win?"
"Hah! You wish!" Katsuki stomped in, slamming the door behind him, "I'm gonna destroy you when we fight."
You laughed, "What are you talking about? You still have to go up against Kirishima."
Katsuki sat down in the chair across from you and slammed his feet onto the table, "And I'm totally gonna win against him."
You rolled your eyes at how confident he was in himself, "Whatever you say, Katsuki."
You sat down in your chair and decided to use your quirk to extract the water from your tank top since someone else was now in the room. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw a red glint from Katsuki's eyes as he watched you work. It was delicate work; you moved your fingers fluidly, drawing out more and more water with each movement. You couldn't get out every single drop of water due to water's adhesion property, but you did the best you could. You dissipated the extracted water into the air. You looked over at Katsuki to see if he was still watching you, but as soon as you did, he glanced away. Interactions with Katsuki were always like this. He wasn't one to talk, and you grew up learning to never talk because it would always lead to a lecture. The two of you often sat in silence, but it was never an uncomfortable one. It was peaceful in a way. Even though it was Katsuki you were with and he was usually far from peaceful, but the peace was broken when he suddenly got up from his chair. He began walking towards the door, hands in his pocket.
"Hey Katsuki?" You said.
He turned around to see you; his ruby eyes looked into your (e/c) ones, awaiting your statement.
You smiled, "You better not lose against that red head."
"Like I'd pass up my chance to kick your ass." Katsuki smirked before walking off to the battle field.
You got up soon after he'd left, and put on your jacket before making your way back to the stands. There's no way you were gonna miss this fight.

You finally reached your class's seating section and sat down next to Denki and Sero. They and a few other of your classmates congratulated you on your victory which you bashfully thanked them for. Everyone's attention soon turned to battle field below. Katsuki and Kirishima's fight had begun, and by the looks of it, the red head actually had Katsuki on the defensive for once. It was an interesting sight to see since Katsuki was always ruthless in battle, but it wasn't too far fetched in this situation since Kirishima's hardening quirk made him nearly immune to Katsuki's explosions. You watched attentively. It wasn't often you got to see Katsuki actively dodging like this. His reflexes were fast; he couldn't afford to get hit by Kirishima's hardened fists. He'd been grazed a few times, blood dripping from the cuts, but it didn't phase him. You wondered if he planned to evade forever. Would he tire soon?
But as soon as you thought that, Katsuki released an explosion and it seemed to actually affect Kirishima. Then came another explosion, and quickly another. Kirishima was faltering. It was then that you realized the effect of the length of the battle on the competitors. For Kirishima, the longer he went on using his quirk, the weaker it got since he couldn't keep it up forever. Katsuki on the other hand excelled at drawn out matches because it allowed for a larger build up of his nitroglycerin-sweat. Katsuki switched to the offensive, relentlessly blasting his opponent. And with a final roar of his signature "DIE!" Katsuki let off his last blast as Kirishima collapsed to the ground, thoroughly fried.
"Kirishima is out of commission! Bakugou wins!" Midnight declared.
The crowd erupted into cheers, and you clapped along too, unknowing that a smile adorned your face.
"Bakugou's relentless firing blasts him into the third round!" Present Mic announced, "and with that, we have our final four!!"
You looked up at the big screen in the opposite end of the arena. It showed pictures of Todoroki, Iida, you, and Katsuki: the final four. You smiled triumphantly. You had made it. It was obvious that you would, but it felt nice to relish in the small victory. You could imagine your younger siblings going crazy and jumping up and down at seeing your face on the big screen. You couldn't wait to see them after the tournament. Although, your mood quickly shifted when thinking about seeing your mother after the tournament. She wouldn't let you hear the end of it if you didn't win first place, and even if you did, she'd speak blandly, nearly unimpressed since she expected you to come in first regardless. You brushed the thought away, not wanting to let your mother ruin this moment for you. You rose from your seat, deciding to take a walk to clear your head before you're next battle. You were going to need it.
