After you and Katsuki had your moment in the classroom after school, you tried to avoid each other the following days. It was tough to do since you both hung out around the same people. It didn't help that you both sat next to each other in class either. You weren't sure what to make of it, and he definitely didn't either. Guys had never interested you (neither had girls for that matter). You were always focused on yourself and your goals. But now... you weren't even sure about what you really wanted, because whenever you thought about your main goal -being a hero-, you found yourself thinking about training with Katsuki or taking down villains with him.
Speaking of becoming a pro hero, the upcoming hero agency internships were going to be a huge step to getting there. After much thought, you decided to actually heed your mother's advice and intern at her agency. Even though you wanted nothing to do with her, her words after your fight together echoed in your mind.
"I don't actually need my hands to use my quirk... and you don't need them either."
The concept of that was so perplexing to you, and you couldn't help your curiosity from growing. After all, your mother was ranked number 8 on the billboard, so there had to be at least something you could learn from her, right?

The day of the internships came fast. Before you knew it, your whole class stood in the train station as your teacher gave you parting words.
"Do you all have your costumes? Remember, you aren't allowed to wear them out in public yet."
"Sure thing!" Ashido chimed.
"It's 'Yes Sir' Ashido," your teacher grumbled. "Make sure you mind your manners with the heroes at your internships. You are not only representing U.A., but the future of heroes as well."
"Yes sir!" Everyone shouted. And with that, everybody dispersed to their train stations. Ashido and Kirishima excitedly turned towards you.
"Oh my gosh!! We're gonna be doing hero work!!" Ashido exclaimed.
"Yeah!! It's gonna be great!" Kirishima looked at you, "Are you excited (Y/n)?"
"Haha, yeah totally." You replied, but your attention was somewhere else.Your eyes were looking at Katsuki. Kaminari and Sero had swarmed him and he looked so grumpy. It was almost cute. But as soon as that thought crossed your mind, you tore your eyes away from him. Cute? He wasn't a puppy. He was just your arrogant classmate. Nothing more than that. Although, the more denial you had, the stronger the tugging in your chest became. Because of the internships, this would be your last chance to talk to Katsuki. Otherwise, it would be a whole week before you could discuss what had happened between the two of you. You did your best to muster up the courage to approach him, but you were interrupted with another comment from Ashido.
"Hey, aren't you interning with Psychic Soul?" She asked.
You nodded, "Mhm."
"She's your mom isn't she?" Kirishima added. "I think I remember you mentioning that."
"Yeah, you're right. She's my mother." You said.As soon as you confirmed his statement, Kirishima lit up, proud of himself for remembering that fact. Although for you, isn't wasn't something you liked to parade around. You didn't want to be known as "Psychic Soul's Daughter." You wanted to make a name for yourself. You were going to be known as Goddess of the Sea: Neptune. Your thoughts of dislike for your mother would only grow as you neared her agency. With due time, you bid farewell to your friends, going your separate ways. For a moment, you glanced over at Katsuki once more, the tugging in your chest never disappearing. You tore your eyes away; there was no time for it now. You didn't even know what you would say to him. The words just weren't there.
Little did you know, as soon as you looked away, Katsuki spared you one final glance too. He'd been looking your way as Dunce Face and Soy Sauce Face talked his ears off. You'd been ignoring each other the past couple days and it'd been seriously pissing him off. At first, he was glad that you weren't bothering him anymore. Although as the days went on, he hated to admit it, but he began to miss it: the sound of your voice, the snarky comments, and the break in your stupid façade that only came out around him. His feelings were confusing and he hated it. He tore his eyes away from you and walked towards his train, leaving Pikachu and Tape Dispenser behind. Whatever. He just had to start his internship. Hero work would get him in the right mindset and would help clear his head. Once he got his thoughts sorted out, he'd confront you. It's not like he would have to wait the entire week to speak to you again. And with that, the two of you were on your way to your internships.
