The car ride home was silent much like the car ride before your fight. You replayed the previous events over again in your head. It was such an odd occurrence that you couldn't help it. First of all, you physically fought your mother, got beaten by your mother, she went back on her word, and then you cried in front of her. Your head still couldn't quite comprehend it. Although one thing kept bugging you; Why did your hand randomly shoot up at the end of the fight? and had your mother been the one to do it?
Your curiosity got the best of you, and you broke the silence of the car ride.
"Hey," You began, turning your head towards your mother, "Did you move my arm towards the end of the battle?"
Your mother didn't take her eyes off the road, "Mhm."
"But, how?" You wondered, "I had your arms restrained and I know you can't manipulate living things."
"Your hair tie." She stated.
You glanced down at the hand that had shot up during the battle and just as your mother said, you had a hair tie on your wrist. You hadn't even noticed it, but it was the deciding factor of the entire battle. Even though that gave some explanation as to why your arm moved, there was still one thing unanswered.
"But what about your hands?" You questioned, "You couldn't use them."
"I don't actually need my hands to use my quirk," Your mother glanced at you for a moment, "and you don't need them either."
You furrowed your brows, "What?"
"That's why I said come to my agency for internships," She said. "Your Quirk may be a generic one, but there's specific things that only I could teach you about."
You frowned. "Thanks mother."
You crossed your arms and slumped down in your seat. Of course, even after your mother told you she was impressed with your fight, she still thought your Quirk was below hers. She called it "generic". You had gotten your hopes too high that she was changing. Of course she was still the same self-centered person as she'd always been. You felt like a fool.
Regardless, you had at least gotten some answers out of your mother. Usually she'd brush off your questions with "you'll see" or "it's a secret" which always pissed you off. You probably would've lost it if she answered your questions like that. She didn't give you much to go off of, but you were grateful nonetheless for the information you had gotten. Your mind began to wander about the last answer she had given you.
"I don't need my hands... and you don't either."
That seemed so foreign to you. Not using your hands? How would you be able to control the water? Even Todoroki, the strongest classmate with and elemental Quirk like yours, needed to use his hands for his power. Hopefully one day, you'd figure it out. As for now, you were just going to relish in the relief that you would be able to see him and all your classmates again.
You didn't feel like talking to your mother after the last comment she made, but you still wondered why she changed her mind about the outcome of the fight. She had said that if you lost, she'd pull you out of U.A. But when the time came and you lost, she went back on her decision and allowed you to stay. It was the most perplexing thing. You had still lost and that had always been what she cared about most. You waved away the thought since the perplexity of it began to give you a headache.

Luckily for you, U.A. gave the next few days off for students to recover from the sports festival. It was much needed since competing against your classmates and your mother afterwards had totally worn you out. That next morning, you slept in until 11am (which was 2 and a half hours longer than your mother would usually allow), and when you awoke, your muscles cried with soreness. Moving was gonna suck.
The day school resumed, it rained. You smiled as you looked out the window. The sound of the raindrops pitter pattering against the glass made your heart beat a little faster. You couldn't wait to be out in it. You opened the front door and just as you were about to step outside a voice cried out to you.
