The crowd cheered as Bakugou was declared the victor of the match. Uraraka is carried off the battlefield while Bakugou simply walked off.
"And that's it for the first round!" Present Mic announced. "Aw man, I was really pullin' for her. Oh yeah, and I guess Bakugou is movin' on..." He sighed.
"You're supposed to be unbiased you know." Aizawa stated.
"Let's try to forget that depressing outcome!" Present Mic chimed, building up his usual energetic composure. "With that, the first round is complete! We're taking a break and then we're back with more matches!!"The crowd cheered, excited for the next round. Everyone starts to disperse, heading towards snack booths and bathrooms. You get up too. You didn't really want to admit it to yourself, but you kinda wanted to see Katsuki. You wanted to talk to him, maybe even comfort him because if you heard thousands of strangers, pro heroes, and even your teacher booing you, you'd be heartbroken. You're dreams would be absolutely shattered, and you'd be so discouraged. Thinking about Katsuki's personality and who he was as a person, you doubted that he was actually hurt. Or maybe he was hurt a little. Everyone has feelings whether they showed it or not. As tough as he was, maybe Katsuki was just like the rest of you. A young teen, scared of the realworld, confused, sorting out his future, and figuring out who he was in this world.
"What the hell are you doing here?!" You hear a familiar voice shout.
Your sympathetic thoughts flew out the window as you heard his voice echo through the hallway. A sly smile grows on your lips as you perk your head up, trying to figure out where he is. You think you heard his voice come from straight ahead of you, so you quickly walk to the end of the hallway and reach the staircase at the end. As you approached the stair case you heard his voice conversing with another.
"Hey," The husk voice said, "It was your idea, wasn't it?"
His tone was almost threatening, but then again, it was Bakugou after all; everything he said was practically a threat.
"That stupid desperate plan of hers."
You stopped on the second step in the staircase when you decided to listen in on their conversation. It wasn't eavesdropping per se; it was just not being rude by not intruding.
"You would come up with something that annoying. If we end up--"
"You're wrong." The other voice interrupted.
'Is that... Deku? Wow, he's really got balls to cut off Katsuki like that,' You thought to yourself.
"Uraraka came up with it all on her own. I didn't know anything about it. If that battle was harder than you thought it'd be, then it's because of her strategy, not mine." Deku stated before walking off.As you heard Deku's footsteps getting quieter and quieter as he walked away, you thought to yourself.
'Daaaaamn. Mic drop. I didn't know Deku had the guts to stand up to Katsuki like that. Especially considering how Katsuki treats him. I guess he really cares about Uraraka.'
"Tch, fucking Deku. Fucking Round Face," You heard Katsuki grumble.
You let Katsuki take a few more steps before you started moving again. You didn't want it to seems like you were purposely spying. Once you reached the top of the stairs, you saw Katsuki walking off. His footsteps echoed through the hallways with the sound of the loud crowd in the distance. His hands were in his pockets, and his posture was slightly slouched. He walked with a kind of swagger that would intimidate anyone who happened to come across him.
You tried to catch up to Katsuki without making it seem obvious. Your steps were faster than usual but not so fast that one could tell it was abnormal. Katsuki heard another set of footsteps behind him. They were light and quick, and he heard the dull clicks of the heels of your boots. He could tell it was you. He subconsciously slowed his steps in order to allow you to catch up easier.
You popped up next to him and lightly bumped his shoulder with yours.
"Hey, Katsuki," You chimed.
"What do you want?" He grumbled.
"Wow, so mean..." You pouted.
Katsuki scoffed, "Shut up. It's not like it's any news to you."
"Aww Katsuki you're being so rudeee," You continued to whine.
"What the fuck is wrong with you? Your cutesy façade is disgusting."
You laughed, "Okay, okay, I'll cut it out."Katsuki glanced at you out of the corner of his eyes for a moment before turning his attention back ahead of him.
"That battle was pretty impressive," You commented.
Katsuki looked back at you again, peaking his interest.
"Even though you didn't notice her strategy, you were still powerful enough to deflect it. I was impressed. I knew you'd win from the start, but I didn't know you had that much power in you." You looked over at Katsuki, meeting his eyes. "And even though you showed how capable you were to be a hero, people were still booing you. That must've been so discouraging."
Katsuki's eyes narrowed before he sneered, "Is that what you came here for? To pity me? Well I don't need your dumb sympathy."
You smiled, "No. Katsuki I know you don't want sympathy. I just came to tell what you wanted to hear."Katsuki raised his eyebrow.
"They're all stupid. Even Aizawa said so. They were sitting in the stands and didn't even notice what was going on. I just hope they realize your potential before it's too late," You expressed.
Katsuki looked at you intimately, but he remained silent.
"I also wanted to say that I can't wait to beat your ass in the finals."
You smirked as you finished your joke, turning your head to see Katsuki's reaction. You were pleased when he smirked in return.
"Ha. You wish, nerd," He playfully scoffed with a sparkle in his eye.
You smile at him before looking down at your feet. Your some reason, you think you feel your face getting hot. You just hope your face wasn't getting red. You touched your hot cheeks with your cold hands and ponder why you could be feeling so strange. You were literally just talking to Katsuki. Nothing special. He hadn't even said much. The least offensive thing was probably his last statement when he'd called you a nerd. And how he looked at you with a sparkle in his bright red ruby eyes. Eyes that seemed to be hot and burning with a determination to dominate. Eyes that were intimidating and harsh, but striking and attractive. Every time you caught those eyes looking at you, it struck fear and anticipation into you. But there was also an intimacy to it. When he looked at you, it seemed as if he was scanning your body, analyzing you, trying to figure you out. It's as if he was trying to find your strengths, your weaknesses, your specialties, and all the qualities that made you, you, but there were also times when those striking eyes weren't as intense. They were tamer, calmer, even borderline caring. When his eyes were like that, the rest of his body was relaxed as if he let his guard down. When his eyes were looking at you like that, he didn't seem analytical; he seemed more thoughtful. You didn't know what he was thinking, but that was the fun of it. The mystery was intriguing and enticing. It made him, Katsuki Bakugou, intriguing and enticing.
Soon, the two of you reached the stands, and the loud crowd snapped you out of your thoughts. Together, the two of you make your way to your seats, and soon, the next round begins.
