As Abbie laid on the bed in her in Steve's room, scrolling through her phone, Steve entered the room silently.

His eyes drifted down to his side of the bed where a small blue gift bag, stuffed with white tissue paper sat.

"What's this?" Steve questioned as he picked up the small bag.

"Open it," she nonchalantly replied, not looking up from her phone.

Steve untied the ribbon and opened the box. Inside sat a pregnancy test. One word. Eight letters stared back him

PREGNANT

"You're pregnant?"

She nodded with a grin.

"When did you find out?" he asked.

"This morning," she replied, "You're happy right?"

"Happy?" Steve placed the test on his nightstand.

He walked over to the other side of the bed, slipped his arms under her and lifted her up in his arms bridal style. Abbie wrapped arms around his neck.

She let out a happy squeal.

Steve leaned in and kissed her.

"We're having a baby," he smiled.

"I love you." Steve gently placed her on the ground. He then placed his hand on her stomach, "Both of you."

"So, you're having a girl," Danny took the seat across from Steve at the diner.

Abbie was now 20 weeks along; halfway through her pregnancy. That morning, she had another doctor's appointment.

"We should be able to find out the gender today," Dr Wilson said, "You want to know right?

"Yes," both answered at the same time.

Dr. Wilson smiled, "Alright then. Let's see."

Dr. Wilson moved the ultrasound wand around for several moments before she spoke, "Congratulations you're having a girl."

"A girl?" beamed Abbie

"A girl are you sure?" Steve asked as Abbie felt his hand that was holding hers press a little tighter.

"Positive," she smiled.

"We're having a girl," Abbie turned to her husband

"A girl."

"Is it bad I'm ready to lock her in the house until she's forty?"

"Welcome to being a girl dad, my friend, " Danny chuckled, "Look at you. Married with a kid. Another one on the way. Steve McGarrett the family man. Never thought I'd see the day."

"Me either," confided Steve as he took a sip of his coffee, "I wasn't brought up in a normal family. I never considered having kids or getting married. And then the moment Abbie told me she was pregnant with JJ my world changed. I was no longer responsible for me, but this tiny human who depends on you for everything, that terrified me. When I saw him for the first time, all that went away. I can't imagine my life without him."
