Chapter 32

[A/N] ~ If I told you guys, that I had not realized 1+ years passed since my last update, would you guys believe me?

I swear, I had no idea that so much time had passed. Once I realised this, I immediately got to work and tried to squeeze as much time as possible to write more chapters. I have finished already a few, which I will upload now for you to enjoy. Also as a small apology

I will continue writing more and try to upload a few more this week to move on with the storyline. As the chapters progress, you will learn more about what happened to Tengchao and why Wangji and Yue are not as close as expected. 

Worry not, however, for Wuxian is here to mend the broken relationships of others because he is clueless about how to amend his romantic relationship with Wangji (☞ﾟヮﾟ)☞

Wuxian kept his promise and somehow, to everyone's surprise, Wangji was persuaded. There was still a small tension between the two blood relatives, but Wuxian made sure to constantly keep their minds off that argument.

The Clan Elders disagreed with that decision but Wangji talked to them and somehow, they let Guan-Yin go. After that confession on top of the hill, she had not asked him any questions about his true past or his intentions.

She treated him the same way she did when he was pretending to be Mo Xaunyu; only with a little more respect now, after that heartfelt opening moment. She would not lie, however, that his presence was a nice change to this trip.

She had been to some night hunts with her uncle but their opposing natures often clashed and made it very hard for the two of them to co-exist, hence why after a few tries they simply stopped.

This time, though, things were different.

In order for Wangji to agree to the idea of her joining them; she had to listen to him. That was something Guan-Yin accepted as a term, for it was not that hard. She had been doing it a long time now; she could do it a little bit more. Of course, as long as her dear uncle did not choose to keep her to the side at all times and treat her like a first-year cultivator.

They both knew that she was capable of much more.

Before they left Cloud Recess, they had to get proper provisions. At the same time, many disciples were sent in pairs to help against the villages attacked by resentful energy and spirits, that got stirred up because of that demonic arm.

One of those pairs was Lan Jingyi and Shizui, who had to travel to an attack sight at the border of Gusu. At the same time, they had found out about her decision of her to join the trip with the two older cultivators.

They stood by the entrance, on top of the stairs while she was waiting for Wangji and Wuxian to arrive. The two boys kept her company, the three of them talking casually. It would be the first time they got separated in a few years and it felt quite odd, considering they always worked together.

"You are lucky to follow Hanguan-Jun, Guan-Yin" Jingyi whined, putting on a small fake pout. "You will learn so much from him. And this Madman seems to know things too"

Guan-Yin rolled her eyes at his drama and gently nudged him with her elbow. "Oh yes, very lucky. I wouldn't mind if you two could join us, to be honest"

"We wish but we have to help others," Shizui said, once again not truly catching her sarcasm.

That boy was too kind for his good, many times failing to catch up when one was being sarcastic. "I know, Shizui. Makes sure you do not run out of flares this time" she joked, making their ears turn a faint pink from embarrassment.
