first night

the first time i asked you
to sleep on the couch
the first night
my body gave out from exhaustion
the first night you'll
stay at a hotel room
how convenient that he
works late tonight
early tomorrow
should i be relieved
to have the night to myself?
or should i be devastated
breaking down screaming "i miss you"?
