The woman that knew she was enough

The woman that was always there
The woman that cared for everyone
The woman that gave her all for them

The woman that cared so deeply
She was nervous when she met him
She hadn't known just how much
She would come to love this man
She was loved and cherished but
She was hurt deeply by him
She hid behind a face of anger
She knew if she was numb
She wouldn't have to hurt at all
She protected herself from his words
She watched him slip away
She never even thought
She would be the one left behind
She watched her world stop turning
She wasn't ready for her life to end
She knew this must be a nightmare
She wanted to wake up
She broke her mask of anger then
She wore her face of pain and sorrow
She showed herself to this man
She exposed her insecurity
She told how she came to love him
She explained her actions
She listened to this man speak
She understood this man's pain
She poured her heart out to this man
She knew this man was precious
She assured he was cherished and loved
She was finally understood by him
She felt her sorrows melt away
She knew he could feel it too
She promised her life's devotion
She agreed to get some help
She knew they needed this
She's been hiding away
She can stop hiding now
She knows the look in his eyes say
She's going to be okay
