Iris arrived at the train station with her cart full of her school supplies and her pet owl. Her ticket said platform 9 3/4 and she was standing in between 9 and 10. She asked around to see if there was anyone who could help her, but they did not take her seriously. Before she began to lose hope, she found a group of people with carts filled with stuff just like hers. She pushed her cart and went towards them.

"Pardon me?" She asked them politely. "Do you know where platform 9 3/4 is?"

"We are just about to head there right now! Come and join us!" a boy about her age said.

The other children from the group started to charge at a pillar with their carts, disappearing as soon as they came in contact. The boy who invited Iris started to follow them and he too went through the pillared wall.

"Go on sweetie! It'll be over before you know it." a man said who might be the boy's father.

Iris started to push her cart, then slowly accelerate it as she got closer. She went through the pillar and out of a wall. She did not feel anything and was greeted by the train. The boy from earlier came up to her.

"You did it! It's not as bad as you thought it would be. I'm Fleamont, Fleamont Potter by the way" He took his hand and shook hers.

"I'm Iris Freya" she gladly shook it.

"Well, we should start heading over to the train now. " he said

Both went and hurriedly pushed their carts to the train, gave their supplies to be stored somewhere, and started boarding.

"Monty over here!" a boy said to Fleamont.

"Let's go!" He took Iris's hand and pulled her, catching her by surprise.

When they walked over to the seats, there was only one space left, and it was reserved for Fleamont.

"I'm sorry, mate. Didn't think you were going to bring a friend" his friend said.

"That's okay we can find a seat elsewhere. Come on, let's go" Fleamont looked at Iris.

"No worries, I'm sure I can find another seat." she smiled at him.

"Are you sure?" He said.

Iris nodded.

"Ok, well it was nice meeting you! I hope we get to see each other more often. " Fleamont said.

"It was great meeting you too! I'll see you around" she assured him.

They said their goodbyes and Iris began to search for an open spot. She came across one section and open it. It was a boy with pale skin and dark slick hair. He was sitting by himself and stared at the window.

"Would you mind if I sit here? Everywhere else is full. " she said nervously.

"Not at all" the boy said

She took a seat across from him. It was becoming awkwardly quiet so Iris engaged in a conversation with him.

"I'm Iris, Iris Freya by the way"

"I'm Tom, Tom Riddle"

"Is this your first year too?" she asked.

"Yes" he said.

"I'm a bit new to all of this. I didn't know such a place exist until a couple of days ago" she said.

"Me too. How did you come to know about Hogwarts?" he said.

"Professor Dumbledore visited me at my orphanage and told me that I belong here. And quite frankly, I'm glad he did. Anywhere is better than that dreadful orphanage." She said
