Chapter 37

Nine months into Iris's pregnancy...

The selected Aurors hurried into the deep woods, chasing after death eaters. They flew in glowing lights while Iris flew in a dark shadow. As they arrive to their destination, they finally appear in human form.

"Sometimes you confuse me into thinking you're a Death Eater every time we fly. " Arcturus Black said.

"Oh please, don't even put me with  them" Iris said.

Iris wore a coat and used magic to hide her belly.

"So, who is going to bust this door open this time?" Augustana said as she looked at a rusty cabin.

"You should do it" Septimus said 

Augustana kicked the door down. They found Death Eaters inside. Before all the Death Eaters could fly away, Iris created a type of force field that pushes them back inside. Arcturus and Septimus gathered the Death Eaters, and apparated them to the Ministry so that they could be put on trial.

"That should be everything. I'll see you at the Ministry" Augustana said to Iris before apparating out.

Ava apparated in and was frantically searching for Iris.

"Ava?" Iris said.

"There you are! You need to come with me. It's an emergency" Ava said.

"What is it?" Iris said.

"It's Tom. He's gone mad. He found a cave in Bolivia. I saw initials that I assume must be yours. He figured out this ritual to get in there" Ava said.

"Oh no. I hid some artifacts from the Ministry in there." Iris said.

"What kind of artifacts?" Ava said.

"Ones that I knew would be dangerous in the hands of the Ministry. But I worry that the items might possess him" Iris said.

"Possess?!" Ava said.

"Malevolent spirits that can influence one's thinking. Just him performing the ritual and being near it is probably what is making him mad" Iris said.

"You can't possibly let him in this one. Out of all the missions I've been with him, this is by far the worst. I have a bad feeling about this one" Ava said.

"Why should I help him?" Iris said.

"Why shouldn't you?" Ava said.

"Fine, just this once" Iris said.

"We must get there before he arrives" Ava said.

Iris held her hand, "I'll apparate us in the cave. But please do your best not to listen to the voices. Just focus on me. Understand?"

"Yes" Ava nodded her head.

Iris then sensed something coming, "Do you feel that?"

"No?" Ava was confused.

All of a sudden someone appeared between them causing a massive blow that knocked the women back. Both were caught off guard and tumbled down as they fell. Iris did her best to protect the two of them from the magical blow: Ava, and Iris's unborn child. It required a lot of energy from her and being pregnant hindered her capabilities. Since she placed most of her protection to Ava and her baby, it left her injured deeply.

"A blood ritual! How clever!" a familiar yet estranged voice said.

The rest of the old gang were there: Lestrange, Avery, Malfoy, Antonin. Along were a few lowly followers. Iris is outnumbered. It was her against all of them.
