It was the night of Iris and Tom's birthday. They were meeting at the top of the Astronomy Tower. Iris was the first there so that she can set up a picnic. She made food and even had a cake.

She laid everything out perfectly. Now she just had to wait for him to arrive. An hour and a half have passed and he hasn't shown up. She decided to give him the benefit of the doubt and waited. She placed the food back into the basket and cast a spell to keep them fresh. She wrapped a blanket around herself and laid down on the pillows. The waiting didn't last very long for she took a nap. She woke up, still cold and dark. She checked her pocket watch and three hours have passed. Feeling tired, she fell asleep.

When she woke up, she realized she slept through the entire night. She grabbed her basket and blanket. She made her way back to the dorm. She angrily stomped her way over. Once she got into the common room, she saw Tom. He smiled to greet her, but then realized what she was holding. His smile quickly fades and a sudden feeling of guilt washed over him.

"I'm sorry." He said.

"I waited for hours. I slept all night in the tower waiting for you" she said.

"I was with-" he said.

"Ava. Who else." She said.

"Ava-" he said.

"I don't really care what she does. I just hate the fact that you promised and you didn't live up to it. If you weren't going to make it you should've told me." She said.

"I knew you would be mad if I told you that I wasn't going to come" he said.

"And the best decision was to make me wait like an idiot?  Look, meet me in the library so I can take you to the restricted section two hours from now. I don't care if you bring Ava or not. Just at least be there on time, cause unlike you I still keep my promises." She said.

"Can we at least talk?" he said.

"We're talking right now. Oh and-" she reached in her basket and grabbed his cake for him, "Happy Birthday" she said in the most unexciting tone. Iris hurried her way back to the common room while Tom stayed behind, knowing full well he shouldn't run after her.

After two hours passed, she heads inside the library. She waited for Tom. For once, he was on time.

"Don't worry, I didn't bring Ava. I told her not to come" he said.

"Looks like she didn't get the memo" she said.

"What?" he was confused.

Ava was walking up right behind him.

"I thought I told you not to come" he looked at Ava.

"I just had to. I mean this is the restricted section" Ava said.

"Let's go" Iris led the way.

"Will you talk to me first?" he said.

"I have things to do" she said.

"Like what?" he said.

"Not important to you" she said whilst looking ahead.

They reached the restricted section and she showed them in.

"Go ahead" Iris gave them the ok to roam free.

As Tom and Ava roam around, she prepared to do the spell. She chanted quietly and placed an illusion into their heads. When they picked up the books, it would rearrange the letters so that they wouldn't understand. Any book that reacts violently when opened disappears in their eyes.

"I don't get it. Why do they look like this?" Tom said.

"Because it's restricted. You'd think they'd let first years read it just like that?" Iris said.
