Chapter 28

"What's wrong?" Christopher said.

"In the forest? I sense it" Abella said.

"Let's go" Iris said.

The three bolted out.

"Where are you going?" Augustana said but was ignored.

Iris left the building in a hurry and into the cold, dark, and snowy night. Antonin tried to go after her.

Tom dragged Ava out of the crowded area and into a quiet place.

"What are you doing?!" Tom yelled.

"Why her?! You can't even love" Ava pleaded.

"What makes you think I'll love you?" He scowled.

"You don't have to love me, I'll remain forever loyal to you, to be whoever you want me to be. She wants love from you, and we all know that you can't give that to her. So why do you even try to be with her?! " Ava said.

"She is powerful, and I want her. She is more useful than you'll ever be. " he said in disgust.

"So what? Is she your new Iris? Iris is locked forever in Azkaban, and you move on with this Genevieve" she spoke out.

Tom was furious she even dared to say that to him, so he tortured her on the spot, "You are a fool to speak your mind! Don't question nor scold me on what you think is right! And keep Iris's name out of your mouth."

"AAAHHH! I-I'm s-sorry, my Lord" Ava tried to speak while she was in pain.

Tom left Ava there and went back to the ball. He noticed that Iris wasn't there.

"Where is she?" Tom said.

"She was looking for you and when she did, she ran off. "Nicollete said.

Antonin came back, " The snow is thick, I couldn't go further. I lost her the moment I went in the snow. "

"Oh Merlin, I hope she is okay " Augustana said.

"I'll look for her" Tom said.

He searched for her, but she was nowhere to be found. He then realized that she could be in the Astronomy Tower.

As he walked up the stairs, he made his way to the top.

Earlier on....

Iris ran through the cold thick night with Abella and Christopher trailing behind her. She sensed a strange presence in the Astronomy Tower. They ran up the spiral stairs.

"No one's here. Are you sure this is it?" Christopher said.

They heard someone coming from the stairs.

"What do you want?!" Iris told the person.

It was quiet for a moment, and they knew something was wrong.

Tom made it to the top, but she wasn't there. He found her shoes, and right next to her shoes were drops of blood.

Iris quickly casted a spell to pin the unknown person against the stone wall.

"Who are you and what do you want?!"Iris said. Abella and Christopher pointed their wands toward him as well.

"Grindelwald sent me here, h-he wanted me to capture you dead or alive" the man said in fear. "P-please don't h-hurt me!"

"Grindelwald? Is he here?" Christopher said.

"No" the man quickly shook his head.

"Is there more of you?" Abella said.

"No" he shook his head aggressively.
