It was the middle of the night and Iris waited for the girls to fall asleep before she snuck her way out to the second-floor girls' lavatory. When she arrived, she searched to make sure she was truly alone. Once it was clear, she opened the entrance and conjured up a spell to let her fall with ease. She landed on piles of bones. Mostly small critters and reptiles. She walked in and heard the voice ring behind the entrance.
She opened the entrance and all the snake shifted into position. The door clicks and she enters inside.
"Who dare enters the Chamber?" The voice hisses around her, as if the beast was circling her around
"Iris Freya Slytherin" she said.
"Slytherin?" It hissed. It then emerged from the waters.
"Yes" she said.
"Then will the true heir look me in the eyes" it said.
And so she did. Those who dared to look into its eyes suffer a fatal death but Iris looked into its piercing eyes. Unaffected.
"So it's true....The heir stands before me. Your wish is my command" it bowed down.
"Tell me about Salazar" she said.
"What about him do you wish to know?" it said.
"Everything that you know" she said.
"He was my creator...my master. He and his heirs will rule over the wizarding world and massacre every last mudblood" he said.
"Did he have a family?" she said.
" I do not know what is beyond these walls" it said.
"Good that is all I needed to know from you." Iris then gave the basilisks an enchantment, "In soporem cades oportet et solus Slytherini heres dignus iterum te evigilet"
The beasts then fell into a deep sleep, retreating it's massive body in the waters
She ventured into the sewers to find a way out. After what seemed like hours, she was able to spot a trap door. When she tried to lift the door, it felt as though something heavy was a top of it. Water came rushing down, and she realized what was above her, the Black Lake. With all her strength and willpower she used a spell to blast the door off so that she could exit out of the sewers, she mustered up enough to fight against the strong current. The water was pitch black, and she didn't want to know what was swimming around her. She swam up as far as she could till she feels the surface.
When she did, the shore wasn't too far and she quickly swam. She was out of breath and gasped for air as she finally had a break.
"Now this is something you don't see everyday" the Headmaster was standing right in front of her.
"Headmaster, I-" Iris tried to speak but she was interrupted.
"Before you say anything, let's get you back inside" he said.
He helped her out and cast a spell making her dry instantly. He conjured a warm blanket and wrapped it around her.
"Follow me" he said.
They walked back to the castle and were headed toward his office. They stepped onto the long spiral stairs and she was in awe at the size of his office compared to the professors.
"If you could please explain to me why I found you in the lake past curfew?" he said.
"If I told you, you probably wouldn't believe me" she said.
"It doesn't hurt to try" he said.
"Well...to be quite frank, I found the Chamber of Secrets" she said.
