It was time for the students to return to Hogwarts. Tom went ahead inside while Iris stayed to chat with Fleamont and his family. When she was done, she left Fleamont to say his goodbyes and searches for Tom. She kept glancing through the train, looking at each compartment. She was starting to give up until her necklace started to glow. She opened one of the sliding doors and it was Tom. Her necklace glowed and his ring did too.
"There you are, I was beginning to think I'd never find you" she said. Felt content until she barely noticed Ava, sitting right across from him.
Iris was still standing, "Ava...it's always pleasant to see you" she gritted her teeth.
"I could say the same" Ava put up her best fake smile.
"I think I'll go with Fleamont" Iris was about to shut the door, but Tom placed his foot by the door.
"Don't be ridiculous just sit next to me" Tom said.
Ava didn't want that and offered her spot, "Or you can have mine" she quickly took the seat next to Tom.
Iris sighed deeply as she took her seat. She grabbed a book from her bag and started to read it. She knew with Ava being there, she couldn't have a normal conversation with Tom.
"So Tom, how was your summer?" Ava said.
"I spent all my summer, locked up in my room. So I guess you can say I had a splendid summer." He lied as he had his arms crossed as looked at the window. His sarcastic tone was quite obvious.
"Oh, I'm so sorry Tom. I wish I could be there for you." Ava placed her hands on him with pity. She also hoped that Iris saw to it as well.
However, Iris was very occupied with what she was reading. The book was all about the founders of Hogwarts and of course, she was looking at Salazar Slytherin. She became more curious about her name in her second year and was determined to find out her history. There was one particular part that caught her attention,
"There has been no evidence whether Salazar Slytherin married another bloodline, but there is a possibility he could have married his cousins to keep their pureblood status. The Gaunt family and other purebloods have done this as well."
Iris was even more curious about her family tree line. She planned to talk to Professor Dumbledore right when she arrives at Hogwarts.
"Iris? Hello?" Ava waved at her.
"What?" Iris answered, but didn't take her eyes off the book.
"What I said was have you ever tried butterbeer before?"
"Sure" Iris didn't even pay attention.
"Iris!" Ava yelled.
"Ok, ok" she finally closed her book and placed it in her bag. "What were you saying?"
"The three of us should head over to The Three Broomsticks this weekend. " Ava planned on trying to leave Iris behind and have Tom all to herself.
"I'd rather not" Iris disagreed
The rest of the ride to Hogwarts was completely awkward, but mostly for Ava. Tom and Iris kept their selves busy with books, while Ava just sat there practically talking to herself.

Augustana, Iris, and Nicollete were by the lake, studying.
"It's only been one week and we are already studying." Augustana said.
"That's Hogwarts for you." Nicollete said.
"It shouldn't be hard for you, Augustana" Iris said.
