Iris was strolling through Hogsmeade, on the way to buy a dress for the ball. She bumped into Lestat on the way.

"Lestat! Haven't seen you in a while" she said.

"Hey, Gen! Shopping for the ball?" he hugged her.

She returned the gesture, "Yeah, you?"

"I guess we both are shopping last minute then" he said.

"Is it bad that I forgot?" she said.

"I don't blame you...it's been a rough year" he said.

"Indeed, it has" she said.

He opened the door to the shop and motioned her to walk in first, "After you, my Lady"

"Why thank you!" she said.

He followed right after her. They were in awe by the shop's magic. Mannequins displaying unique clothing, fabric flying everywhere, and yarns were being tossed from either side.

"Oh, hello there! I'm guessing you need something to wear for tomorrow night's ball" the man said.

"Yes, sir" Lestat said.

"And you, champion. We need something dazzling for you. I was hoping you would walk through my doors" he said.

"Sure, I'm desperate for anything" Iris said.

"Anything? Pssh, you don't just wear anything... you wear what makes you feel confident and beautiful. And for the gentleman, what makes them handsome. I have some eye-catching pieces in the back, and I think you two are the perfect fit for them" he ran to the back, excited to show his work.

He comes back with beautiful pieces.

"One for the gentleman and one for the lady" he raised the piece up.

"They're beautiful but.." Iris said.

"But what?" the man looked confused by her expression.

"It's just that, they are matching" Lestat finished for her.

"Well, of course, a couple is meant to wear it. You two are going to the Yule Ball, correct?" he said.

"We are just not together. We have other dates" Iris said.

"Oh! Well, no worries. It's simple alterations to make them uniquely yours. I'm sorry for the confusion" he said.

"It's okay, I would've probably thought the same thing" Lestat said.

"Yeah, and I wish we did go together. That piece would've looked beautiful as a pair" Iris said to make him feel better.

"Awe, now you're just pulling my wand. You two are so cute, I will mark it half off for that. Now go ahead and put these on in the fitting rooms, we'll make the alterations once it's on you" he shoved them the clothes and motioned them to go behind the curtains.

After buying their outfits, it was getting late and the two walked back to the castle.

"I noticed Tom's been...I don't if happy is the right word...but tolerable ever since he's been with you. What's the secret?" he said.

"Has he not been this way?" Iris played along.

"I wish. He hasn't been like that since Iris" he said.

"What was Iris like?" she said.

"Despite what the newspapers paint her to be, she was kind. Eager to help and such a bookworm. Her and Tom were inseparable. Tom used to be this weird and quiet kid, but I could tell he had a soft spot for her. He hasn't been the same since she left. It's weird how he changed his personality these last few years, it seems unlike him" he said.
