Chapter 4

After the big feast, the houses were directed to their dormitories. When Iris walked into the common room, it was filled with beautiful shades of green, gold, and silver. She started heading towards her room and was greeted by three other girls.

"Hello, I'm Augustana Peruvo" she had short brown hair and brown freckles. She had an overwhelmingly positive attitude and could lighten anyone's mood. She approached Iris with a big smile.

"I'm Nicollete Delafae" she had medium red wavy hair. She seemed fairly relaxed and less upbeat than Augustana, but overall, the same kind attitude.

Iris could tell that the two were close and had known each other for a while. Another girl came forward.

" I'm Ava LaRiche" she had dark blonde hair that was straight, long length. She said it confidently with great posh. Her blue eyes stared her up and down.

"It's very nice meeting you! I'm Iris Freya" she said.

"Freya?" Ava squinted her eyes slightly and looked at Iris as if she was beneath her.

"Never heard of that name before...Are your parents' wizards?" Ava asked.

"I don't know, I never met my parents. I lived in an orphanage my entire life" Iris feeling slightly down.

Augustana felt sad, "I'm sorry, forget that she mentioned that"

"Don't worry, I don't find it to be a big deal" Iris said.

Augustana and Nicollete went towards her, putting an arm and hugging her so that she feels comforted. Iris was taken aback by this gesture, but she accepted it with open arms.

"We are here for you and we can be like a family. We can be sisters!" Augustana said.

"If there is anything that you need, we are here for you. Right Ava?" Nicollete raised an eyebrow at Ava.

"Of course" Ava stood there, looking at her friends hugging someone who she thinks is muggle-born. She despises anyone who was muggle-born, she believes that they don't deserve to be here.

Augustana and Nicollete released Iris from their grasp and the girls started unpacking their things.

"Would it be okay if I take this middle bed?" Iris said as she approaches the bed near Nicollete.

"Sure!" Nicollete said.

"Actually, I called that one" Ava said.

"I thought you wanted the one on the end" Augustana said.

"I changed my mind" Ava said as she grabs her bag from one bed and places it on the bed Iris wanted.

"That's fine" Iris said as she grabbed her bag from the bed, "I can take the other one"

As the girls finished unpacking, one of their hallmates knocked on their door, "Hey, everyone's hanging out in the common room if you guys want to join" the girl who looked to be in her last year stopped by and left.

The girls followed and headed over to the common room. There they mingled and talked with the rest of their house.

As Iris was with Augustana and the others, she saw Tom walking with his roommates but then was left to his own. She called him over and he didn't think twice about it.

She introduced him to her roommates, "This is Tom, we rode the train together. And here is Augustana, Nicollete, and Ava"

"Hey" the girls said, but Ava's greeting was different than her attitude towards Iris. It was much softer and showed shyness as if she was blushing at his presence.
