Iris was standing in front of the school with McGonagall. Iris was waving her wand and chanting an incantation. While students were walking pass them, they were occasionally looking up to see what she was conjuring.
"Are you positive this will work?" McGonagall said.
"Of course, professor. I used it all the time whenever Grindelwald and I moved locations. No one could bypass the barrier if you were an unauthorized individual " she said.
They walked around the school grounds making sure there were no openings an infiltrator could use.
"Have you made sure there are no loop holes?" McGonagall kept pestering her for the 66th time.
"Professor McGonagall, do not worry. No one is going to sneak in here anymore. The only thing that could bypass all of this is.... pssh I don't know...time traveling. But I doubt that would happen" she said.
"Time traveling?" McGonagall said.
"I just threw it out there. But it's the only thing I could think of. For all I know the Minister confiscated it from me anyways. It would take an idiot to sneak in the Minister's Office" she said.
They hear a loud explosion.
"Weasley" McGonagall already knew who could make that particular explosion.
"SEPTIMUS?! NOT AGAIN!" A hufflepuff girl yelled.
She walked out into the halls with her face covered in soot and her hair singed.
"Ulma? What happened?" McGonagall expressed concern on her appearance.
"Professor McGonagall! Weasley has done it again! This is the 13th time he's blown up his cauldron" she said.
"Mr. Weasley!" McGonagall stormed off to catch him.
Fleamont comes running out of the classroom, laughing his way towards Iris.
"Septimus really needs to stop experimenting" Iris said.
"But that ruins the fun" he said.
"That poor hufflepuff girl barely has any eyebrows left" Iris said.
"Tom was right next to her but he only shielded himself. Bet he saw it coming" he said.
"I hope you aren't falling behind on your studies" she said.
"Merlin, when did you become such a Professor...well...you know what I mean" he said.
"I only want what's best for you" she said.
"Well, can you maybe lessen the amount of pages we have to write on dark creatures" he said.
"It's only five pages. Dumbledore wanted triple that" she said.
"Yeah, don't listen to me. I wasn't thinking correctly. Five pages is good" he said.
"Go on now." She motioned him to leave while she continued her job.
"Yes, Professor" he teased before leaving.
She moved over to another area of the castle where there were huge statues of soldiers designed to defend the school. She was improving their defense systems and enhanced their abilities, while doing so, Tom approached her.
"I hope you give Septimus more assignments. That buffoon doesn't know how to make a basic potion" Tom said.
"He does surprisingly well in DADA. I might have to do another dueling session to see his skills" Iris said as she was still working on the statues.
"What are you doing?" he said.
"Working on the school's defense system. I'm encoding some enhancements to these protectors. I'm thinking of it as how this school would stop me if I were to invade" she said.
